    I have just uploaded a new version of the zip file with the fix in. There is also a replacement merchant.php as well - some people were struggling with creating a new item of merchant info.

    If you have already started customising you can just replace inc/functions.php and admin/merchant.php with the new ones. If your current data was skewed bythe previous version you will need to empty your DB and re-import the info to get the vouchers working again.

    That's worked a treat. Now where do I submit the next incident before bedtime

    For interest, it is the same formatting issue but in a different section. I've created a merchant (Bunches) that has a description that also includes £ signs, which suffer with the formatting

    This will have been due to the same reason as the links and pound signs... so the last fix should have fixed it. If you use the latest version it shouldn't happen any more. I'll go and do some tests now

    Ray - you may need to empty the whole database and not just the voucher table and it may work. Though I dont know.

    Hmm, odd one. I have managed to replicate it now, so apologies, it wasn't fixed before. It's getting late so I'll have a fresh look at it tomorrow. It's probably just something niggly. Really odd since the £ shows up fine in the source

    It must be some sort of characterset or font issue. The script forces UTF-8 headers using php (do't worry if you don't know what that means), so you might get a result by commenting out that line:

    add // before:
    header('Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8');

    so it looks like this:
    //header('Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8');

    I have a right mare trying to get stuff to display properly in my browser (firefox 3).

    I dont know what the default settings are for Character Encoding in FF3 are but I get loads of strange stuff for £ and $ and other weird signs on loads on sites lately, so maybe its a rendering error rather than a script output one?

    I suppose I should be honoured that our ideas are copied left right and center.

    Hi Lee,

    Sorry you feel that way - we've been working on this system for a while, far before the mention of your system and during the development of the AffiliateFuture interface which launched around 4 weeks ago.

    Personally I think the solutions are very different - yours, as you've already stated, is for people that don't want the hastle of adding vouchers themselves and ours is a framework that offers a lot of flexibility but requires some time and effort in getting it up and running and maintaining it.

    Regards

    If you do me a favour and sign me up to all the programmes on affiliate future ill believe you :-)

    Im sure that the voucher code system on pagerank10 sparked the idea off though, because this is what we based icodes.co.uk on... (although i doubt very much a network would admit that though)

    to be fare , i think most people know that affiliatefuture have been working on this quite a while , and it was only a matter of time until a network did this anyway.
    also what affiliate future are doing is quite different to what you are doing leeky.

    its all good anyway

    Like you say (and i have said), they are not really the same anyway... ours is much much better.. at at least will be anyway :tup

    Obviously everyone will go for affiliate futures first, then a nobody's second as we have a lot of affiliate who dislike us for various reasons, so we are at a disadvantage to start off with as a lot of affiliates wouldn't use ours even though it will be the best.

    people will try affiliatefutures first as it is available, and i believe people will try yours but at the end of the day a person will use the solution that is best for them.

    at the moment affiliatefutures looks good (not cosmetically) for me as i can combine it with something else and from what i have tried so far is easy to use and manipulate.

    so its not mine is better than yours, as the person that creates the script isnt the judge and everybody will have a different preference.
