Fingers crossed it's a solid build. They say it has element of Mozilla and Webkit so thats a great start. Let's just hope it's nothing like IE6 to design for as we need that like we need a hole in the head

Read about this on Techcrunch yesterday - am looking forward to hearing the press conference and downloading it later.

Slighly worried that it has a "porn mode" like IE8 - hopefully it's not too prominant.

waiting for this for many years.
it's just open source that already exists with a new javascript engine.

But at last DEATH TO MICROSOFT EXPLORER!!!!

Problem is it will kill of Firefox and opera, which is a shame.

Browsers do need a whole new overhaul mind.

Looks really interesting, during some searches I found a countdown to the download here:

    Download Google Chrome

As usual, the world has to wait for the west coast of america to spring into life before anything happens.

Going to download it tonight, especially as it's open source back end...may resurrect my own browser design project.

    WOW!!!

Really generous of Google. Sure they helped themselves to a lot of open source but by offering it all non proprietary..well that's neat!!! :tup

Bit hard going through their cartoon tutorial but some very salient points there.

Received word about Google's new browser around our offices today. I agree that the features sound really great. Their infrastructure should definitely help them nip any errors in the bud. And I second the notion of about the end of IE.

Is anyone using this browser yet? Would like to see some more reviews about usability.

Giving it a bit of a test now - it does seem quick, and it uses the whole of the screen well - no status bar at the bottom of the screen, but if you hover over a link you can see where it points to as it makes its own small status bar hover over the content - neat idea.

New bits always take getting used to and I'm so used to firefox I'm not sure this can become my browser of choice but from where I'm sitting its a bloody good first effort.
