Check out Carphone Warehouse with us

Same benefits as Tradedoubler but with a great Offer.

Get your visitors to go for the Nokia 3310 ( still the best seller according to Carphone Warehouse ) and they will get a Brand New Completely FREE Playstation Two.

Now is that an offer or is that an offer :-)

If your new to our network use this link below and Matt who runs the forum will benefit.

    Hi,

Rather than flog a dead horse it is plainly obvious that this program is a waste of space.

I have to take responsibility as I thought with a strong offer that they had it would change their history as a poor converter of traffic.

It has since been proven after a fairly decent amount of traffic that this has not been the case.

I would rather everyone who is promoting them pulled their links and didnt waste anymore of their valuable traffic on them.

We do have another mobile phone merchant coming on board who has a very good conversion rate for online sales on its current site so hopefully they will make up for this program.

Anyone who helped in promoting this program please except my apologies for the wasted traffic - we all went in with our eyes open hoping the playstation offer would shift some phones but it hasnt so links out time before any more traffic is lost on them.

    Thanks

Not to worry, Malcolm - no one is going to blame you

It was worth a shot - but I can't help from wonder how many sales I might have referred to their tele-sales team

    Yes,

I can see that being a major factor mate.

It was a shot that had to be taken but unlike others I could mention I will not have programs like this actively promoted through affiliates expecially ones that I have built up a good relationship with.

I wouldnt promote them anymore and so I wouldnt want you to either.

They were a nice idea but in practice still have a real problem converting. Unfortunately unlike the other mobile phone retailer I have been dealing with lately I would think they were to big to listen to me when it comes to changing the intergral way their site looks.

The only option left is to pull them completely from the affiliate area.

This to me is a better option than becoming another ostrich lol there are to many already - rather nip it in the bud now and not have anyone waste their time.

Its a bold stance but one that ultimately ( I hope ) provide us with more respect from partners such as yourself Darren

Well done Malcolm, it takes a lot of balls to admit you are wrong and to recommend affiliates dont promote a merchant.

The student section at carphone warehouse was the only thing that gave results on one of my old sites (abandoned), so I'm just wondering if people think the same about that, or if it's just the untargetted cw site that's slow, because I was thinking of starting that back up again.

The CW site isn't slow, just not designed to convert... if you go and try and buy a phone there for example at the bottom of each page is

"To order, simply click the buy now button at the top of the page. Alternatively call us free on 0808 100 9250 to speak to one of our highly trained consultants"

The "buy button" imo is poorly located and not designed with affiliate traffic in mind.

I would advise using another phone merchant in this instance as traffic will be lost for you on the phone number bit.

I wouldn't lose all faith in CW. I promote them via TD and although you're right about phone sales being slow, I do ok for accessories with them, better than any other site I think. Sometimes you have to try a different angle

Having said that, well done you, Malcolm, for being genuine and honest.

Yep, I wish other people in this business had integrity and honesty like Malcolm (not referring to anybody in this forum, just talking generally about the way some networks/merchants treat affiliates).
