Its crying out for a test purchase isn't it - but I don't want one for christmas...
I found that they do their "Confirming/Rejecting" around 6-7pm... check back then!Another 'Sale'!!
Despite attempts to remove all links another 'sale' has appeared - will let you know how long it takes to reject it!
The sale is probably from someone who visited Advanced from your site recently and still holds a cookie on their computer.
In some ways, we should be grateful that they Reject/Confirm so quickly because I was getting all my "sales" from a PPC campaign.
If they didn't Validate commission for (say) 6 weeks then I could have racked up a huge PPC bill, thinking I was making tons of sales... only to see the majority of them wiped out as Rejected!

Hi Guys,
I've seen all the sales that come through on both networks and they do get loads of duplicated from the shopping carts, although the problem seems to be loads worse for some reason on awin.
The new shopping cart will be live in the new year and there will be some more changes to the programme to improve it.
Give me a call or email me if you've got a problem.
Peter Dickenson - Formally known as a network!
Thats highly likley. We are tweaking the duplicate detection thing now, and this should more or less fix the problem, enabling us to start auto-validating commissionOriginally posted by pistol101

Can I add that I think I know the person who rejects - I mean validates - sales had 3 days off last month because they're the only days I didn't have any rejections at all on Aff win... (I've checked a weeks worth and I have rejections every day from this merchant) I am looking forward to the duplication being sorted so I can make an accurate assessment about this program without the need to wade through lots of data.
(Although I might wade through the data tonight anyway)
Thanks Peter - I have sent you an email.![]()

A purely random sale, noted to see if it was rejected... and it was.
There is NO other merchant I can think of where someone could repeat this "experiment" with.
There is surely something wrong with this merchant, I have suspected it for a long time and the more I hear, the more convinced I am of it.
Whether it is dishonesty on the part of the merchant I am not prepared to say publicly, it could be something wrong with their software setup, their shopping cart setup, their credit card authorisation setup... whatever.
But there is definitely something with this merchant that is not observable with any other.
Hi there,
Thanks for your messages.
As I have pointed out on several occassions above, our current shopping basket system registers a sale at the payment selection page, rather than the final order confirmation page. This means that a customer may visit the payment selection page more than once if they (for example) have to amend their previously entered billing or shipping details. This will register a sale each time.
We are aware of this limitation and a new online ordering system will go live in the New Year. I must add that Affiliate Future's system automatically removes most duplicate transactions, while Affiliate Window's system does not, equating to a high cancellation rate.
If you require any futher clarification please email joshw@advancedmp3players.co.uk or my direct line @ 0131 273 4388.

The sale recorded 3 transactions - yes and we are aware of duplications being removed - you just remove the whole lot. No explanation nothing. I cannot beleive anything you say.
Hi "davthp",
Thanks for your message.
In regard to commission you are referring to, I have checked our Credit Card logs and no payment for £139 was received via our website at the times specified, indicating that the customer did not complete Credit Card payment.
Please let me know if you require any futher assistance.
Has anyone heard any progress on this? I still feel I'm seeing more rejections than I should - just wondered if there was any news?
Hi there,
There's been a delay with our new website (which should cut out most of the cancellations for duplicated / invalid transaction etc) - our new website should be going live in the next 3 - 4 weeks.
If you require any more information, please don't hesitate to email joshw@advancedmp3players.co.uk
Kind Regards,

So far this month with AWin I have made 20 sales.
12 have been confirmed.
7 are still pending.
1 has been rejected.
No prizes for guessing which merchant is the only one to have rejected so far (and no, I have no confirmed or pending from this merchant).
I really should remove this company from my website but it I have gone past the point of annoyance, it has become a source of laughter really... not for much longer though, I'm going to be removing them very soon... how long has this "new routine to reduce the rejections" been in the pipeline now?
Hi there,
Thanks for your message.
As explained in previous posts, our current affiliate tracking code is located on the payment selection page of our website. Our current shopping basket system will not allow the code to be placed on the order confirmation page.
For that reason, we employed a web development firm in November to design a new website and a new shopping basket solution. This was due to launch at the start of December in time for the Christmas market. Due to personal circumstances within the web development firm (one of the main designers was taken seriously ill), the new website has been delayed. We were shown the first beta version yesterday, and the website is due to launch in the next 3 - 4 weeks.
Most of the cancelled transactions on Affiliate Window are currently duplicated transactions between our Affiliate Future account. We will also be implementing code on the new website to prevent such duplicate transactions (as previously suggested by another user in a previous post).
If you require any further clarification, please do not hesitate to email: joshw@advancedmp3players.co.uk

Hi there,
To update you; the appropriate cookie tracking code to track down the correct source of a sale (i.e. Affiliate Future or Affiliate Window) should be implemented on our current website in the next 5 days by our web development firm. We will not be waiting for our new website.
Hopefully this should prevent 99% of the duplicated sales in the future. Apologies for the problems and the inconvenience caused previously.
Josh
