Ive had no problems. How hard was you hitting it?
I installed ShopWindow on my server today and within 2 hours my hosts had disabled my site due to their servers becoming overloaded.
They have been having problems and are moving my site to a new server but the ShopWindow scripts threw the current server over the top.
Has anybody else had problems regarding server overloads with ShopWindow or does anyone know just what king of resources it does take up to run it?
Cheers,
Moo

Hi,
Not too hard, I was testing it a fair bit I suppose but I would say no more than 10 queries in an hour so not a lot.
I think its my hosts server which cannot handle much as they are transferring my site to a faster one. I'll give it a go on there and see how it fares.
Shame cos it looks pretty damn decent too. How are you finding it?
can someone sent a link over to me with a demo of this shopwindow app?
(yes i'm a newbie)

I wont reply to that10 queries in an hour so not a lot.![]()
I watch my servers pretty closely, I dont know how many IPS pages I call a day but I would guess maybe 10,000 plus a day.. never seen any impact on my boxes.
In general I think the IPS is great, was a bit sluggish to begin with but seems to run pretty well these days, and of course they upgraded their servers short while back.
AffiliateWindow always used to be a bit of a donkey for me, but since using the IPS im getting 20+ sales a day
Its available from Affiliate Windowcan someone sent a link over to me with a demo of this shopwindow app?

Hi AquaNuke
Here is an example site
http://www.search2shop.com
Good luck
Kevin
Cheers Kevin, Thats a really nice example site.
ahh I see, pretty straight forward database backed site.
Thanks!

The thing is http://www.search2shop.com has no databse back end. Its all generated via the ShopWindow system
and fed live to the site.
bingo!
So basically it sounds like there is very little updating to do since the feeds will automagically be updated.
now your talking...hehe.

Thats it!!!![]()
so my guess is the server is overloading because of the constant xml-feed access per page view?
