Effective today, the Affiliate Window and buy.at sub-forums on the A4U have been combined, offering you streamlined access to the latest news and technical updates from both Digital Window networks.

Earlier this year the A4U implemented a new set of user guidelines, in order to create a visibly cleaner forum, improve user experience, increase industry debate & inevitably provide a better, more targeted service to their users. In case you missed it the first time round, here is a reminder of this important structural change.

    What are the new forums?

The A4U now has three new forums; Voucher Codes, New/Moving/Closing Programmes and Network/Merchant Incentives & Promotion. Any post that relates to these three categories should not be posted in the main network forum, but instead be featured in one or all of the above.

What forum would I check for network news/updates?

Network news for both Affiliate Window and buy.at can now be found in this forum.

Where do I post my promotional messages?

All promotional messages should be published in one of the three new forums; Voucher Codes, New/Moving/Closing Programmes and Network/Merchant Incentives & Promotion.

For example, a post that announces a new programme launch, coupled with a launch incentive for affiliates, could be posted in both New/Moving/Closing Programmes and Network/Merchant Incentives & Promotion. An advertiser who releases a voucher code at the same time as a new product line could post the same communication in Voucher Codes and Network/Merchant Incentives & Promotion. Alternatively, separate messages can be tailored for each forum. There is also an Affiliate Window & buy.at Advertiser Promotions sub-forum which can be used for any promotional message.

Why have the A4U implemented these changes?

By splitting the programme news into these 3 forums it allows affiliates to utilise the RSS feeds much more easily & benefit from more targeted network feeds.

A large number of A4U users also use the 'new posts' button and would rather not see programme promotions taking up most of their results. By restricting the programme promotion posts within the three new forums, A4U can allow the discussion content to be more visible initially, encouraging more interaction with the forum.

How do I write the perfect promotional post?

To help you maximise your affiliate communications, here are some top tips for a perfect post:

    1. Summarise your post content in the opening paragraph, so affiliates don't have to read through the entire article to find out what you are offering them. It's about engaging your audience right from the start!

    2. Supply clear start and end dates for your activity, even if that is 'while stocks last', as it allows affiliates to plan their promotional activity.

    3. If there are any terms & conditions or exemptions to your activity make sure they are clearly stated, especially if they prohibit affiliates from earning commission, e.g. this incentive is only open to affiliates who have not previously generated sales on the programme.

    4. Provide relevant links within your post, ideally complete with your AWin tracking; this will save affiliates precious time and encourage greater promotion of your products.

    5. Finally, add your contact details! If affiliates have any questions regarding your latest activity you want to make it as easy as possible for them to get in touch.

I still have questions, who can I speak to?

If you have any queries regarding the new structure please speak to your network account contact, or e-mail Chris Johnson at the A4U.
