Noob help please....Lots of clicks, no sales

Hi, I've fairly recently started with affiliate marketing. My AW account is showing over 500 clicks for one merchant but no sales yet. I was wondering if the clicks are real (ie real people clicking) or are they counting search engine spiders following my links?

I would have thought that from more than 500 clicks (515 to be exact at the moment) I would get a few sales.

Any thoughts much appreciated.
