Can anyone from AW shed light on this por favor??
Hi all
I'm trying to register as a new affiliate with Affiliate Window but when I get to the section to add my domain, I keep receiving an error message asking me to enter a valid URL. Please note, the site does not exist at present, I'm still in build stage, although it IS a valid URL structure I'm entering.
Do I have to have a website before I can register it?? That seems a little inflexible - why would I want to add graphics, link text etc to my site, THEN register, THEN rework those images & links to include the appropriate affiliate code? I'd rather do the work once, during the build.
One other note that's just occurred to me - the URL has the TLD .ie (I'm in Dublin). I take it Irish URLs are permitted under AW??
Help? :c\
Can anyone from AW shed light on this por favor??
Hi there
We do validate URLs entered in the sign up process to ensure that affiliates are signing up with an active site. We then review the site, the whois information for the domain and run checks to prove identity before approving new affiliates on to the network.
I suggest that you add a holding page on the domain that clearly explains that the site is in construction and coming soon. You can also put this in your application to join the network in the site URL description field.
There are no restrictions on what TLDs you can use. .ie is perfectly acceptable.

Thanks for the reply Chris. So if the domain is just parked at this stage, that's ok?

Thanks again Chris, much appreciated. I've finally settled on a .com and will be registering over the next day or so :c)
