Sainsbury's Site Scraping ???

Can anyone explain what is meant by 'scraping the Sainsbury’s site' please?

Just opened an email from Sainsburys saying:

Sainsbury’s would like to remind all affiliates that scraping the Sainsbury’s site is strictly forbidden.

Hi,

Apologies for the email that went out on Friday not being particularly clear.

Sainsbury's are aware that some affiliates have access to tools and technology which allows them to 'scrape' the Sainsbury's site to pull off live prices instead of using the datafeed.

If you are using technology to gather live data from the Sainsbury's site other than what is provided through Affiliate Window please contact us at sainsburys@affiliatewindow.com

I got this through as well and had to look it up. might have been an idea to send out another email with an explanation.....

Hi Chris,

Although I don't promote Sainsbury's, I do use this technology on most merchants I promote.

Out of interest, why has this merchant decided to stop this?
