Ive sent about 40 mins on the phone to them today. They refuse to honour the offer despite acknowledging it is on the site and valid until 9th november. Was passed backwards and forward between sales and customer services and despite trying to make a formal complaint they didnt seem to want to take one. Spoke with a chap called scott pitcher who was frankly useless and had no idea or authority to deal with the matter. I have resorted to writing to bbc watchdog and have taken screen prints which clearly say the offer closes 9th november 2011. I suggest anyone else affected does the same to raise the profile of this misleading advertising email is watchdog@bbc.co.uk
Works for me - just tried it now on a Samsung laptop at Currys. Maybe they fixed it!!
Hello both,
Thanks for posting that feedback.
The code COMPU5 is working for the saving of '5% Off All Laptops, Desktops, Netbooks, Tablets, Projectors and Monitors Over £399' and the Dixons Retail group will be honouring any sales used with it.
The expiry date is still set to the 9th November. If this end date changes for any reason, of course this will be communicated to their affiliates as a matter of priority. However, at the moment it is live and should be working.
Dixons would be more than happy to discuss this further if you have been having issues with the code.
Please get in touch with me directly via the below details and I'd be happy to put you in touch with someone who could help.
Kind Regards,
Jenny
This strikes me as a victory for the consumer. I spoke with PC World (DSG) on the phone on Sunday and they flat refused to honour the code, telling me it was invalid despite admitting it was on the website. They also confirmed other complaints. Either way they have bowed to customer complaints or Watchdog called them today following my contact on Sunday, and they've made a rapid about turn because the code amazingly works again. Either way a victory for the consumer, PC World should know better than treat customers this way. Still doesnt cover my 40 mins on a mobile, their rude staff and the complete incovenience taken to get us back here. Glad they've now decided to do the honourable thing. 0/10 for customer service 10/10 for rudeness PC World.
PS. Thanks Jenny.
