Is anyone else experiencing datafeed issues with AWin today?

My scripts failed to download a fair few overnight and I restarted it again to have another go, but still without success.

Trying the create-a-feed links in the browser isn't doing much for me either .. seem to be getting gzip files with empty files within, suggesting that there is an issue at AWin's end.

And before AW say 'raise a ticket' ... I just have .. ticket#52179. I am trying again with the script in the hope that I can nurse a few more in.

I haven't changed anything in the script in weeks so really don't think that I have a problem of my own making.

    DC.

p.s. Just noticed that I am now importing Blackwell Books datafeed which has failed twice earlier today .. so maybe whatever was broken is fixed now?

Can't even update the ticket now - there is no submit button on any browser/computer that I tried now. Don't know if AWin are working on the ticket system?

If AWin are listening .. this should be added top the ticket -

"OK, so I gave a bad example URL and and I fear that it has given you a reason to blame me.

HOWEVER, overnight my automated script failed to collect a considerable number of datafeeds that are collected daily normally without issue .. it is all automated at my end to collect from many AW feeds.

A short list of failures ~4.00am - 7am were Bee.com, e2Save, Emma Bridgewater,All of the Hut Group (SendIt, The Hut, Zavvi), Blackwells Books, Foyles

Trying again around 10am also failed to collect a number of feeds.

This afternoon, the script is now grabbing the feeds without any code amendments from me pointing to an issue at AWin as I tried a number manually in the browser today without success?

Are you aware of any other issues? or is there a particular time to avoid collecting datafeeds?"

    Hi lizdav,

We're not having datafeed issues and I believe a collegue within the Technical Services Department has responded to your issue, as the original link you provided was incorrect.

Could you let me know what issues you're having with the "submit" button? Could you let me know what browser your using? My email address is below...

    Many Thanks,

    Safiyya

    Hi Lizdav,

    Hope you are well.

I have had a look at the links you provided in ticket 52199. I have tried each link and I was able to download the feed without any problem. The merchant’s feed you are trying to download provides a large data feed, which takes time to be fetched. Can you please check your “server / browser timed out” setting? This could be the reason for you not to be able to download the feed. Besides, we haven’t received any queries about datafeed from other affiliates. Can you please do the checking and update me via email?

Regarding to your “submit button” query, can you please try it on a different browser i.e. Mozilla Firefox? It should work on Firefox.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.

    Kind Regards

    Biraj,

    I have responded by email.

For the benefit of watchers .....

Still no submit ticket update button and I already told Safiyya that it doesn't appear in either FF9 or IE9 on two different computers for me.

No dispute that the links work now, but I want to know why they didn't work earlier and hoiw to avoid. Just wondering when the retailer/AWin updates their feed in relation to when I download?

I don't believe that it would have been a timeout .. I managed to load 2 out the Hut group files (The Hut, Zavvi) after SendIt failed earlier in the same job.

    Re: submit button.

Are the example links your putting in the ticket breaking the css?

This happened to me on a ticket last year and was actually to do with a long string of xxxxx's without spaces that I pasted into the textarea field. This broke the css and pushed the submit button out of the window.

This sounds somewhat plausible. A shame that there wasn't a fix developed when identified previously .. pasting deeplinks and create-feed links can't be unexpected.

If Awin could delete the links from the tickets, that would prove/disprove the theory and maybe help find a permanent solution.

Looks like gerry180 is correct. We've escalated this for a quick fix. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. I appreciate how frustrating it must be to have the submit button disappear when you're trying to tell us about a problem.

Regarding your other problem, I am assured you are being looked after by Biraj.

CSS is definitely the issue with dynamic text area width that extends beyond the page-right to match the entered text. Firefox allows you to strip css and the button is then visible to me.

On the datafeed issue ... I hope so. The last couple of days (that I noticed anyway) has seen a change of some sort. The feeds loaded later when I re-invoked my script which leads me to wonder whether feeds are unavailable whilst retailer/AWin are updating them?

I gave Biraj times to see whether there is any correlation.

Just to add on the datafeeds I had noticed the John Lewis feed had returned zero bytes the other day but thought it was a one off.
Today a number of our sites successfully downloaded the JL feed at 11:26am and 15:31pm but failed with zero bytes at 12.25pm.
