In the Newitts product feed... when clicking on a link

    e.g. http://newitts.at/(your code here)/IT009743.html

the link that is arrived at contains the legend..

    &etp=tradedoubler&WT.mc_id=tradedoubler

I presume this doesn't effect tracking, but wonder why it's there at all?

    Jason,

As I said on the phone, we can't replicate this problem - ie. when we try this TD code is not there. And you don't have the problem today.

The only thing that I can suggest at this time is that it may be a wierd issue related to how the newitts cookie in your browser is handled if you have followed both a TD and a buyat link.

We'll have a further look to see if we can reproduce the problem - please let us know if it re-occurs

    Dave

I've had a look and can't be sure either way.

When you follow a standard TD link it takes you to http://www.newitts.com/tradedoubler.asp which sets/unsets the following cookies: -
    Set-Cookie: BUYAT=; expires=Mon, 06-Jun-2005 14:35:32 GMT; path=/
    Set-Cookie: ARC=; expires=Mon, 06-Jun-2005 14:35:32 GMT; path=/
    Set-Cookie: AW=; expires=Mon, 06-Jun-2005 14:35:32 GMT; path=/
    Set-Cookie: UKA=; expires=Mon, 06-Jun-2005 14:35:32 GMT; path=/
    Set-Cookie: TD=set; expires=Wed, 06-Jul-2005 14:35:32 GMT; path=/
    Set-Cookie: ASPSESSIONIDCACTCSAR=PABPPFCCHCPFIKAHBBPOBIMM; path=/

It then forwards you to http://www.newitts.com/index.pasp?etp=td which sets/unsets the following cookies: -
    Set-Cookie: MSCSProfile=61E4CECF7275066FD87B9817DA5865CB4D7A3D E19DB84749ABC5DFD3937F8B2F0F4B470616AA58442C59E79F AA661162188D187E4F7DDCAD56BAB58D17C9A302AB7AAB8E34 0117416AAEAEC2329B908D6FAA795FE8DEB71AF178F3BB7613 DCE742D42E30D0565AB79105A3E3D1EABC1927CAC9C7E44DAF 10826C92C1665E980C7B22CB17F57936AD; expires=Fri, 15-Jan-2038 00:00:00 GMT; path=/
    Set-Cookie: TD=set; expires=Wed, 06-Jul-2005 14:35:34 GMT; path=/
    Set-Cookie: UKA=; expires=Mon, 06-Jun-2005 14:35:34 GMT; path=/
    Set-Cookie: CampaignHistory=912%2C752%2C677%2C1281%2C1280%2C12 75%2C1278%2C1313%2C1283%2C1276%2C1310%2C1312%2C130 8%2C1274%2C1309%2C1319%2C1311%2C1277%2C1279%2C1433 %2C1430; path=/
    Set-Cookie: AW=; expires=Mon, 06-Jun-2005 14:35:34 GMT; path=/
    Set-Cookie: BUYAT=; expires=Mon, 06-Jun-2005 14:35:34 GMT; path=/

If you then follow the Buy.at deeplink shown above it takes you straight to http://www.newitts.com/product/IT009...dfz5z6z2z950td which updates the CampaignHistory cookie but doesn't alter the other ones - ie the cookie named TD still equals 'set'.

There is no way to know if the 'TD' cookie still hanging about would affect tracking.

Hmm, I've just checked a buy.at link to the home page and that redirects to http://www.newitts.com/buyat.asp which sets/unsets the following cookies: -
    Set-Cookie: BUYAT=set; expires=Wed, 06-Jul-2005 15:01:28 GMT; path=/
    Set-Cookie: ARC=; expires=Mon, 06-Jun-2005 15:01:28 GMT; path=/
    Set-Cookie: AW=; expires=Mon, 06-Jun-2005 15:01:28 GMT; path=/
    Set-Cookie: UKA=; expires=Mon, 06-Jun-2005 15:01:28 GMT; path=/
    Set-Cookie: TD=set; expires=Mon, 06-Jun-2005 15:01:28 GMT; path=/

    Which looks a lot better.

Looking at the details on buyat it looks like the product feed deeplinks should get redirecting to something like http://www.newitts.com/buyat.asp?url...uctID=IT009743, which they aren't, but also that format doesn't quite work at the moment but its close.

So I can't reproduce Jason's problem, but it looks like there is another possible issue.

    just trying to help

Thanks for the info. Just to confirm we are looking into this now with the merchant.

    Cheers

Well it's been a while (nearly nine months) and the deeplinking method on the merchant program page today still doesn't work - I've submitted a ticket, just wondering if anyone has a deeplinking format that works and tracks yet?

    Hi all,

I'm a new recruit at Buy.at (since January) and some of the work ill be doing is related to this.

I checked the Newitts feed this morning and noticed that the structure of their deeplinks have changed. I have updated the text in your managemnt areas to reflect this. To clarify, previously the deeplinks have been working fine - it is just since they changed the structure of the deeplinks that old structure has not been working.

For deeplinking using the new system:

    To link to product AE-011:

    http://newitts.at/AFFID?DURL=http://www.newitts.com/product/AE-011/Apollo_Training_Discus.htm&WT.mc_id=dfz5z6z2z944ba &etp=buyat

Note that the URL of the product (Apollo_Training_Discus.htm) must be included. This differs from the old deeplink system.

Both AE-011 and Apollo_Training_Discus.htm must change for each product.

&WT.mc_id=dfz5z6z2z944ba&etp=buyat must go at the end of each DURL.

    Hope this clears things up!

    Cheers,

    Pete
