Was checking a page and saw that my TD links gave 3rd party cookie erros relating to cd wow so thought I'd check out the banners on buy.at

Fab - there's some fab looking offer for free flight tickets which i thought looked very easy to promote.

So I checked them out.

There is no mention of the offer on the site - so its def something I can't promote.

However - and this was the BIG WOW for me.

The site is full of traffic leaks.

Its got loads of competitions and offers for customers but they all go to other sites like myoffers, firebox etc etc.

I feel that this is not on at all.
If its not rectified shortly there is no point in sending them traffic.

Never promoted CD-Wow, not at their commission rate. 2.6% is about 20p on the sale of a £10 CD. When you can get four or five times more commission from other entertainment retailers, doesn't make sense.

Yes, the leaks are an increasing problem.

Common problem with 'successful' merchants. They 'discover' more and more ways to make revenue, but don't include their new revenue streams in our commissions. They get our traffic - and don't have to pay us for sales generated on these new product lines. Is exactly the same with WHSmith, Amazon.co.uk and SendIt.com - you don't get nowt for ringtones, DVD rentals and the plethora of other products these stores now sell.

Most affiliate programs go through this lifecycle, with the last stage being shameless greed and disrespect for affiliates (40% of product lines on WHSmith home page earn us no commission; commission rate used to be 10% is now 7%). The biggest and best affiliate programs today we'll all be moaning about in two years 'cos they have leaks, don't pay on time or have slashed their commissions

Hi Mogga

Ill pick this up with CD WOW on Monday as obviously the more there is leakage the less people will want to promote them and we all lose out.

Ill feedback when I get somewhere with it

I suspect part of the problem is that its easy to put up links and not check back on a site.
