    Hi,

I have been trying and trying to download the datafeeds, but just can't. I need them downloaded for my site so much, but I just can't do it.

I have contacted affilitewindow, but I am not getting much sense out of them.

I have joined a large amount of merchants that offer product datafeeds. But when I go and download them in CSV. I just get a blank zipped file that is 1Kb in size.

I then understood that I have to apply for the Datafeed program, which I had done last week and I have still not been approved. I have asked them why and they said they are re-doing the system or something.

I really need to use their product datafeeds now, not next year. I need them on my site now as I have to get on with promoting my site and start bringing the merchants alot of sales. I can't do that if I can't even download the datafeeds.

Can somebody give me a little information to where I may be going wrong.

    Thanks!

As I understand it until you are approved for the datafeed system you wont be able to download the datafeeds as there will not be any files generated for you (files already include your affiliateid in the url for each link in the file)

So it looks like unfortunately you will just have to wait until AW approve you.
Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.

    Thanks for that Keith,

I have also had the same problem downloading empty files but gave up trying on them as I thought it was just me, I didnt see a part where it said you have to apply for the XML feeds - I'l go and have a look now, and cheers for asking the question john - its done me a world of good too!

Now all I need to know is how to design a style sheet so it could still be years before I get anywhere! lol

I had this exact same problem, and found the solution.

FireFox seems to be the culprit here, I use it as my main browser and was getting empty zip files when downloading the zipped csv, and timing out when I tried it unzipped.

Loaded up IE6, tried downloading a zipped csv - Worked a charm, tried downloading it unzipped - worked a charm.

I have made them aware of this problem via their ticket system, but they just gave me the respose that no one else is experiencing this problem, and it must just be my computer. Maybe it is just me, maybe it isnt and using IE will work for you too. Give it a go and report back!

Any affiliate can download datafeeds via the datafeed page in your affiliate admin area. We reccomend saving to your hard drive before opening. If you wish to download datafeeds via URL, send us a ticket and we'll enable your account.

Hope that clears the situation. Please don't hesitate to contact us should you have any further questions.

    Hi,

I have tried using IE and also Netscape to download your datafeed files via CSV with a zip download, but it has just been producing empty files.

Also could you please enable my account so that I can download datafeeds via URL as this is the way that I would prefer to do it as it will make my uploading of product data to my database alot more automatic.

I have already sent you a ticket saying that I have applied for the datafeed program, but I have not yet been approved.

So if you could approve my account ASAP, then I will start adding the product data into my database asap.
