Hi,

Very good news to see John Lewis join my favourite affiliate network!

However, there appears to be some rather confusing statements in the T&Cs:

Affiliates may not bid on or use the word mark ' johnlewis.com' or 'John Lewis' in any way to gain preferential listings on Search Engines, Directories or any other kind of online database. Any other use of the word mark, other John Lewis registered trade marks, confusingly similar marks or copyright is expressly forbidden and will result in the termination of an Affiliate's agreement with johnlewis.com.

I think this needs to be reworded, as it currently implies that you can't use the actual words "John Lewis" on your pages, just in case it gets indexed by a search engine! This is obviously not the intention of this restriction! ;-)

It's the same T&C they have been using on other networks for ages. Don't forget the 4 mentions per page only limit!

I think you are allowed to promote the products they dont want people targetting traffic in the natural serps from the John Lewis brand name.
