I've yet to hear of a network or merchant providing a few weeks notification for an affiliate program closing down. Just a day or two ago Boystuff closed down on AW without notification and had to frantically remove all the links.

I think my eyesight is deceiving me. Off to specsavers...

It would be interesting to know why this program has closed? the guys behind it always seemed very pro-active.

Whilst we cannot enforce a notice period when a programme closes due to issues outside of our control, we do have a policy which states merchants must give us 30 days notice when terminating a programme.

Where this is not possible we work to offer as long a period as possible. As a network it is in our best interests to keep affiliates onside and rewarded, to the extent that we have on occassion paid commissions knowing we would not be paid by merchants terminating programmes.

    Regarding the alternative merchants offered:

Vodafone was not tracking for all networks, it's now fixed on Affiliate Window and we will ensure affiliates are still rewarded. Whilst my primary concern will be to fix problems first, I will try to keep affiliates updated.

e2save, I've checked the tracking and all seems to be OK, plenty of pending transactions. We've flagged it with James so he can be sure to check too.

Phones4U, not sure what your particular issue is, the programme stats are getting better and better.

    Approval 66.19%
    EPC £0.33
    Conv. 2.81%
    Validation 14 days

These merchants were only given as options and affiliates have the freedom to choose whether on not they are suitable to promote. It's always annoying when a programme closes but we really are trying to make this as painless as possible.

    Kind Regards

    Matt,

yes it's a shame but it's a profitability issue and they can't justify running the site anymore.

Not sure where this came from?

Firebox is still running on Affiliate Window and is still as strong as ever.

I'm now going to have to edit my previous post as it looks like I've said 'yes' to Loquax post and not Matt's question....gotta type quicker

    Kind Regards

Very sorry, my mistake: is Boystuff not Firebox. I'm not into buying gadgets (I still play music on cassettes) so they're all the same to me

I have edited my post to rectify it.

"Dear affiliates, The Boystuff MID:323 affiliate programme has been suspended today, please remove all links immediately. We will update affiliates later this week on the future of the programme. We apologise for the short notice of this action. Kind regards Affiliate Window Support Team"

Azam, don't let Firebox hear you say that Regarding casettes, I've just re-installed my old TEAC reel to reel. 2 hours of continuous music on a machine weighing a nano crushing 30 kgs plus!

Also, Boystuff closure was unavoidable, they have gone into receivership.

    Kind Regards
