Yeah getting the same here
they must be updating the site and there s an error on main page coding.
If you might still have a valid cookie then going to http://www.affiliatewindow.com/affiliates/ might let you in. They've added a message center so you can read past emails from merchants.
Cheers Rich - that worked![]()

Hi,
As part of today's upgrade to the news manager, a script that deals with authenticating users was modified. Unfortunately this modified file did not sync across to one of our web servers and so we still had old code calling a deprecated function - hence the error message.
As this was only happening on one of our web servers it took a while to spot and fix. Apologies for any inconvenience caused, should all be working now, please let support know if this is not the case.
Many thanks,
Peter.

Oh no. Here we go. I have an urgent email and the only way to get rid of it is to manually type I CONFIRM in a field!
PPPPPLLLLLEEEEEAAAAAAASSSSSSSSEEE GET RID OF THIS FEATURE AW. It will really irritate me every time I log in and it's pointless - a simple checkbox would do if you really want to know I've read something.
It's the most irritating feature since CJ terms and conditions updates which I also HATE with a passion and NEVER read.

I haven't seen that problem but here are a few others: -This isn't a moan, it's meant to be helpful.
- There is no option to mark all as read. Particually relevant as past messages are marked as unread and some are over a year old.
- There is no next link so you can't easily have access to messages past the 100th one. Probably not that important but it meant I had to read a lot of messages so I could find how far back the log went.
- If you do a search, read a message then click back you get a page expired error . (BTW the same thing happens if you click back to the admin home page - the landing page after you login)
- From an article there is no link to the program page. The publisher name and log is displayed but neither is a link.
- When you click on the number of unread messages that box is still displayed on the message list page and individual message pages. This takes up valuable width and HTML messages have to be scrolled at 1024x768. I don't see the point in telling people about numbers of messages, and other recent messages, when they are already in the message section but not when they are in the other parts. Just showing the numbers on the homepage would seem to be enough - if they are ignored on the homepage these other sections won't be seen anyway.
- Links in messages open in the same iframe.
- Minor: The messages box uses a diferent size font and style border that looks like its been thrown on to the site by someone else. Also, on the homepage, there is already a Messages box to the right of the new on that could have been reused.
I may only do a few quid here and there on AW but i never read them the messages that is, AF have them dont read them, CJ have an internal Email system, dont read them,
There is 103 messages un read in my box, im not going to read them![]()
I noticed that "I confirm" bit when I was writing todays offer news/email to affiliates - on the merchant side of things it now gives that option but has in red text that it should ONLY be used for when merchants need to get a return reciept for things like changes in terms and conditions of your programme etc.
but I presume it's open to abuse by merchants to make sure that their notifcations are read.

Hi,
Thank you all for your feedback on this feature.
As Adam points out, the merchants can request that a message is sent as priority but should only do so for communications that require a read reciept. Affiliate Window have to then approve the article as a priority message.
Unfortunatly a couple of messages were approved as priority last night which shouldn't have been - these have been reset. We have reiterated the conditions for a priority message internally and will add an extra check to the approval process to limit the chance of this happening again.
With the tight conditions on what a piority message should be, affiliates should not be recieving these very often.
The system was introduced in response to feedback from merchants and was designed to address the specific problem of affiliates not being aware of important changes to the programs they are promoting - changes that effect them.
Bod, as I'm sure I don't need to tell you, it is entierly your prerogative whether you read the messages or not, although it might help you to make a few more quid if you didHowever, priority message will now require you to indicate that you have read them.
Rich, thanks for the feedback - all taken on board, expect to see some of these very soon!
Joe, both methods of confirmation were discussed with affilates and merchants and the concesus was to go with the method we choose. This decision will obviously be reviewed once the new fetaure has had a little time to bed in.

Hi,
We have just gone live with a patch to the news system that addresses a few of the points raised here.
Most importantly we have tightened the process for publishing a priority message to ensure that it is only used as was intended.
As far as the affiliate area goes there is now the ability to mark all non-priority unread messages as read, the merchant logo now links to their description page and links within the messages should now open in a new window (thanks Rich for those suggestions).
Any other feedback is more than welcome.
Peter.
