I really am fed up.

I just downloaded, easy art, artrepublic, world gallery and art gallery from awin as one csv feed and I've ended up with category titles of garden tools and decorations, how the hell have I done that?

I agree, I am going to come back to awin's datafeeds in a couple of weeks when (hopefully) the changes to the category structure will have settled down

A quick random look at the feeds shows some concerts from Latest Events as 'Baby Clothes' or 'Garden Tools' while a number of perfumes with no category at all

There are other merchants where the categories seem to be correct, so not sure where the problem is

There is a company wide drive currently underway to improve the category structure of our feeds. This is all part of a wider project to offer a whole host of new datafeed services to affiliates.

We are working hard to deliver what we believe will be the finest technology in the industry but in the meantime, you may see some products in inappropriate categories. Please bear with us while these issues are resolved and the system is improved for all.

It has ONE category......decorations!!!!!

Are live affiliates really beta testing your 'finest technology' without being informed of that fact.
Surely issues should be resolved before launch of the new system.
This I would expect of opensource software - but not a network with the resources that you have.

On the other hand. I would welcome the new category structure, BUT would like to see things tested before being rolled out.

Can I start data feed downloads yet? Is there a date I can go by where all merchants are now using the new structure to save me downloading it and finding they're still buggered? For instance, updates from 2nd March, 6am onwards, are they ok?

They're still buggered.

I've been trying to set up a new site and the categories are causing me all sorts of problems.
For example Boogaloo (last datafeed update was 4/3), who sell mainly DVDs, have the category as 'Garden Tools' for nearly every product.


Also a lot of the feeds also have an empty space where the merchant's name should be (for example Art of Metal, Auralog, Bed Star, Boogaloo, and lots more).

I automatically update all the AW feeds into a database, I don't have time to manually check and correct each one so I think I'll just change my import script to ignore merchants with no name. If they can't be bothered to get something as basic as this right I won't bother promoting them. Unfortunately automatically checking the categories is more difficult, although Garden Tools seems to be the one that's most commonly wrong, I may just ignore all products with that as the category.

Another problem at the moment it the Tshirts365 feed. A few weeks ago they redesigned the site and all the urls changed. But their feed hasn't been updated so the links go to an error page and the pictures don't work. I have requested an update via the AW interface, but this is the sort of thing that should happen without us having to ask.

Jeff, don't expect anything from that company, I freelance for the b*****s they're bloody useless. Let's see if BSkyB manage any thing better, I'm currently trying to sack the ad team, the trouble is my email went down and did a football365 (went nipples up) so didn't get to see the response. Ah well.

It would be nice if AWIN sorted their data feeds out, it's about time something went right.

Do you have an update and a time scale on getting this sorted please. Yes one feed is ready and thanks, but the others are still showing decorations. What's taking so long? Roll back to the previous entity and launch when you're actually ready.
