Dixons have reworked their commission structure to coincide with their launch on Affiliate Window.

Previously, their default commission was a flat rate of 2%.

Now, their commission structure has been reworked to be as effective as possible for both affiliates and Dixons as a whole.

The core products Dixons want to work with affiliates on promoting have received a massive commission increase. This includes:

    White Goods / Cooking Appliances - 5%
    Home Audio - 4%
    Televisions - 4%
    Gaming - 2.5%
    Computing - 2.5%

Please check the account description for full details of their new commission structure.

In order to provide affiliates with the highest possible commissions on these key ranges, they've reduced the rates on products for which they have lower margins, e.g. PC business software, PC peripherals, etc.

Extras, delivery and services are all add-ons pushed via the Dixons site itself, so they are excluded from commissions.

Dixons aim in implementing this structure is to make the programme as profitable as possible for affiliates and steer their focus towards products that will benefit both the affiliate programme and Dixons as a whole.

We understand that this change in commission structure will mean a restructuring of campaigns for some affiliates who have worked with Dixons on their previous network. Ultimately, we do believe this will result in an overall improvement for affiliates, and we're happy to work closely with affiliates to ensure implementation of the new campaign is as smooth as possible.

If you have any enquiries about the new commission structure please contact me directly on 020 8269 4858.

    Many thanks

    Julia

    Hi Julia,

Can you get your technical team to add the delivery price information to your data feeds for Currys, Dixons and PC World (this was included in the TD feeds so should be available from DSG).

    Thanks

The proposed scheme is a little hard to see on Affiliate Window, so here's some summary information to help you make your minds up:
    • 79 Categories Pay 0% Commission
    • 150 Categories Pay 0.5% Commission
    • 94 Categories Pay 2.5%
    • 42 Categories Pay 4% or More

So, 62% of all categories pay between 0% and 0.5%. This is a fantastic deal...for Dixons.

Because the 0% category includes ALL collect-at-store purchases, I've estimated that around 75% of sales generated from my site will earn 0% commission. Sorry, but this would be laughable if it weren't so tragic.

I understand that AW are keen to win new business, but perhaps the long term consequences of agreeing to schemes such as this need to be considered more carefully?

Dixons have no High Stores so the Collect at Store @ 0% is misleading.

Customers of Dixons can only get goods delivered.

    Hi all

The Collect at Store commission group has been removed as it was added in error.

The product feed for Dixons, Currys and PC World now has delivery price information.

    Thanks

Thanks for pointing this out - I've gone from 2.5% commision to 0.5% for the lines I promote! I'm removing all links tonight. Goodbye Dixons!

Thanks Chris -- any chance we can get stock availability information as well?

    Cheers

Other than greed I really don't understand why almost all accessory categories pay 0% commission - anyone who has looked at the prices available from dropshippers (and I'm sure dsg buy at far lower than dropship prices), the margins on accessories at prices dsg charge are enormous (some leads they sell for more than a fiver can be bought wholesale for less than a quid)

Fair enough don't pay commission on delivery charges but on accessories this really does need a rethink - I think AW have had the wool pulled over their eyes on that one.
Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.

If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.

There you go Keith, your lucky day again, you are now officially double-backed (a brace). Looks like i another time I was on holiday & didn't expect a merchant to viably set an unwanted trend.

But wholeheartedly support the merchant moving to AW.
