Is there any reason why an affiliate would get rejected for this program, having (1) been accepted for H Samuel and (2) had previously been accepted for both on OMG?

Bit baffled by the decision?

Hi Jason

Hope you're well. We've just gone live with Ernest Jones and H Samuel today and are looking carefully at the selection of affiliates joining up to the programme.

We had a lengthy discussion with Signet about the types of affiliates that will work best for their brands so we can help them to choose the best partners.

Our management of the programmes with Affiliate Window may not mirror the way they were run on OMG - we hope to make changes that will be of a benefit to both affiliates and Signet themselves.

Saying that, I by no means want to discourage affiliates from working on either programme that have proven successful in the past. You should have received an email when your application was declined, explaining the reasons why that might be and inviting you to get in touch to discuss it further.

There is an account management team here who help with the affiliate applications and it's possible they are not as familiar with Loquax as I am. Don't worry, I'll tell them!

I got rejected for h samuel too having being on omg programme.

It would be useful to know the criteria the merchant is working too when decided what a good affiliate is, so we can then decide if we fit, and also can pitch our claim to work with them accordingly.

The criteria a merchant uses to pick affiliates does vary from brand to brand, so it's difficult to give an overall explanation.

The one thing I would really stress to all of our affiliates is to make sure your account descriptions are up to date. When approving affiliates, a lot of programmes will decline applications that do not have a working URL or do not accurately describe how they want to work with the brand. If the site you list is very specific to one sector and you actually have a whole range, we have no way of knowing.

If you do get declined on any of my programmes, I will always send you an email to let you know and inviting you to get back in touch with more details of what you want to do. If ever you don't get this email, or you want to discuss it further, you're very welcome to contact me.

OMG said to me that Ernest Jones and H Samuel were just on AW for a limited seasonal promotion to involve a wider range of affiliates. Is this true?

OMG also said that Ernest Jones and H Samuel have done this in the past for Christmas promotions. I can't remember them doing this off the top of my head, but have they been with AW before?

OMG are mistaken, both Ernest Jones and H. Samuel are live on AW for more than just a seasonal promotion (12 months in fact), although we are pleased to have them in time for the run up to this Christmas too.

We have been working with both brands on a closed basis for a particular partner so in truth they have been with AW for some time now (including pre Xmas 2006), but they have always planned to be open to a broader spectrum of affiliate partners with AW.
