Can you just clarify - we push Comet on our site about TV sets - if someone goes via that link and buys a Wii I assume we will not be suspended - we are not actively pushing the Wii but it seems a bit mean if someone goes via our link to buy a TV, then sees the Wii and buys one, and then we get suspended....
Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.

If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.

    Hi Drivetowin,

    Thank you for your post.

No, you will not face suspension at all for indirectly sending a Nintendo Wii customer. Comet fully appreciate that there will be users sent to the site via the regular activities for their affiliates and it is more than a possibility that some of these users may choose to browse for and eventually buy a Wii.

Suspension would only ever take place if an affiliate was deliberately and directly promoting Nintendo Wii's from Comet on their site. Rest assured you will not be suspended if one of the users you send to Comet ends up purchasing a Wii.

Please contact me if you have any other questions

    Hello Steve

Unfortunately, we still can not manage the demand for wiis due to limited stock so please can you still refrain from promoting the Wii Nintendo until further notice.

Once we feel there is the stock to support the demand, we will of course let you know and encourage you once again to promote.

Thanks very much for your patience.

Esther, first of all many thanks for taking part in this forum. I have a couple of questions...

First of all, Comet are happy for affiliates to send traffic and customers to Comet to buy the Wii when you have plenty of stock, correct?

But when stocks are low you don't want us to and won't reward us for any sales, correct?

So if I have a site that say compares electrical retailers and I drive target to it from generic terms, or from good SEO or even email marketing. Now that person decides to visit Comet after reading my recommendation and buys a Wii, then you won't pay me for it?

Remember I'm not targetting Wii keywords or even mentioning it in the marketing copy of my site. All I'm saying is that Comet is a really good site and that customers should shop there.

Hopefully you will recognise that I can not control what a customer buys?

So how is it reasonable for me to send customers to you free of charge and then not reward me for sales? Purely because stocks are low? Thats hardly the fault of affiliates is it?

Don't punish affiliates because of market conditions. Just because the demand is so high and stock is so low for this product that you have the right to decline our commissions just because you don't "need" us. Instead treat us as partners who deliver you traffic throughout the year on a cost per sale basis. When you ask us to promote certain products we do, we promote your sales, we promote your offers and we work in partnership. It is NOT acceptable to cancel commissions on one particular product just because you haven't got any. We deserve much more respect than that.
