What does it mean when a program says its 'no' to Recurring Events and what are the implications of promoting merchants that firstly that have Recurring Events and those that don't.

If it says no to recurring events then it means that if you refer a customer to a merchant and they make 3 purchases within the duration of the cookie (for the sake of argument 30 days), you only get paid commission on the first purchase.
Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.

If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.

    Thanks Keith.

What happens if they come through your site again and make a new cookie? Do you still get paid?

ie If the customer already has an account (like I have accounts at millions of online stores) I am browsing a helpfull affiliate site that shows me a product I want at a few stores, I choose the cheapest store, I log into my account at the merchant because I have shopped there before.
Does the affiliate get paid? Or do they get nothing for their efforts because the user already has an account and the merchant gets free advertising?

Or is it the case that the cookie just gets deleted after the first sale, until another one is set?

    Hi Barry,

Each time a new cookie is set then you would be entitled to the commission on the programme again. The recurring events only effects multiple sales within a single cookie.

Similarly, on the vast majority of programme on the network commission is awarded to existing customers. So if you already had an account with the merchant then that should have no bearing on whether a commission is awarded. If this is not the case then it would be clearly stated in the programme description. I hope that helps, if you have any questions about a specific merchant please feel free to drop me a line.

    Cheers

    Warrick

    Hey,

What do you exactly mean by 3 purchases within the duration? Will I not get credited for 3 sales, I made? Or I only get credit for 1?? I still don't understand.. Why will I not be paid for all the sales within 30 days, when exactly the cookie gets deleted from the computer, after one sale or after how many sale exactly?.. Let me know. Thanks.

    Hi Lemley

That is correct if a programme has no recurring events it means for the life of the cookie you will only recieve the first sale made.

Please let me know if you have any further questions on this

    Hi Lemley

Thanks for your post i can assure you that i am correct and on the network no recurring events means that commission is only distributed for the first sale for the life of the cookie.

Many programmes have different terms and conditions, if anyone is unsure about any particular programme, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

    Many thanks

yes i did, i must admit i'm not a 100% sure what is needed. I believe i have fully answered your question on recurring event cookies. IF your concern is about the general Ticketmaster programme in the US the account managers there will be able to advise.

You will be able to reach Gregory at gregory.bennett@platform-a.com

    Many thanks

I have asked Gregory and this is what he said,

    Hello,

No, it does not. It states that in the management area.

    Thank you,

    Greg Bennett | Account Manager
    Tel: 917.534.5112 | Mobile: 908.872.9603
    Email: gregory.bennett@platform-a.com

But the account page, says 'Recurring Events as YES' on TM (US) Program details page.

    Hi Lemley,

Recurring events is on the ticketmaster US programme therefore you will recieve commission for all sales made within cookie period. Unfortunatley the account manager forgot to update the system, however we can confirm that all sales have been paid accordingly.

I hope this helps and apologies for all the confusion

    Many thanks
