if it's scheduled maintenance then they should do this monday and tuesaday next week after the school holidays have started.

Pontin's head office was re-located as part of their expansion at the beginning of this week.
It was planned that any downtime experienced would be outside of office hours and cause the minimum disruption possible, however due to problems outside of their control Pontin's Holiday online will be unavailable between Wednesday 26th March 2008 - Friday 28th March 2008.

That's not really good enough
1. What have office hours got to do with the internet?
2. What is the situation outside of their control? This doesn't really expand on the initial statement.
3. What compensation are they offering affiliates? They know full well that affiliates will not bother to take down links for 48 hours. The cynic in me would suggest this is a way of getting out of paying commission to last minute sales during the build up to the Easter school holidays.
4. What are the addresses that Pontins are moving to and from?

As previously express we are very sorry for any inconvenience caused during the unplanned down time. It was beyond our control and we are working around the clock to fix the situation. We hope to have a resolution in place by the afternoon of Friday 28 March. Our website is hosted externally and our booking engine is hosted on the premises. We will of course continue to communicate through this forum.

OK - I see the problem - but havent they heard of the words 'contingency'?
just seems very very shoddy
ha ha - well I only sell the holidays. I just can't quite believe this to be honest. Site hosted externally, booking engine internal. You'd have thought the whole thing was external to be honest.
I've never heard of incompetence on this scale for a reasonably big company.
can someone confirm pontins tracking was resolved on Friday 28th? The out of date message is still on their website!!!

Update from Pontins..
Dear Affiliates
We are hoping that the booking engine will be up and running by the end of today, we will of course keep you updated with any developments.
Work has continued over the weekend to ensure normal trading is resumed as soon as possible.
We can’t stress again how grateful we are for all the support and understanding shown by our affiliates over the last few days. We will be addressing any outstanding issues once the booking engine is back up and running.
It’s unfortunate we experienced this unexpected down time, but as previously stated this was completely out of our hands. We have done everything possible to facilitate a quick solution, please be assured our number one priority is getting the booking engine back up and running.
