    Hi,

Woolworths have made changes to the DESTINATION URL structure for Affiliate activity. If you have deep links on your site we need you to amend these urgently.

If the URLS are not ammended there is a risk your sales may not be tracked

Apologies for the short notice on this. See the new URL structure below depending on the page you are wishing to link to.

The product/category and competition ids are EXAMPLES and obviously would be replaced with the relevant ID for the page you are trying to link to.

For a product page use pid=product-id
    Previous URL:
    PHP Code:
    http://www.woolworths.co.uk/web/jsp/product/index.jsp?pid=50944645
    New URL:
    PHP Code:
    http://www.woolworths.co.uk/web/jsp/affiliate.jsp?pid=50944645
For a category page use cid=category-id
    Previous URL:
    PHP Code:
    http://www.woolworths.co.uk/web/jsp/browse/index.jsp?cat=cat30011
    New URL:
    PHP Code:
    http://www.woolworths.co.uk/web/jsp/affiliate.jsp?cid=cat30011
For a competition page use compid=competition-id
    Previous URL:
    PHP Code:
    http://www.woolworths.co.uk/web/jsp/competitions/competition.jsp?id=9400001
    New URL:
    PHP Code:
    http://www.woolworths.co.uk/web/jsp/affiliate.jsp?compid=9400001
The deep link generator has been switched off, so please refer to this post or programme details page when creating new links.

Please contact michelle.boxall@affiliatewindow.com 0207 553 0347 or anthony.clements@affiliatewindow.com 0207 553 0353 if you have any questions, as James Bentley is currently on annual leave.

Many thanks for your co-operation, and apologies once again for this short notice.

Ah the infuriating unpredictability of affiliate marketing

Affiliate Window have a good deep link generator, why oh why mess up urls so that it cant produce them.

Glad I rarely promote Woolies, in fact it will be even rarer now.

    Hi all,

For those who may not yet know, Woolworths have decided to launch dual network on Commission Junction.

The problems we faced today have arisen due to technical changes made by Woolworths development team regarding network de-duplication and unfortunately neither AW or the Woolworths affiliate team were made aware of additional changes which affected existing custom deeplinks.

As soon as we were made aware, we worked to resolve the issue quickly and are continuing to liaise with affiliates to ensure existing custom deep links are revised to the new format.

The product feed is all OK and any new links from the interface will be correct.

Apologies for the inconvenience this causes and its typical this should happen just before the weekend. We will continue to monitor the situation and will be liaising with Woolworths on Monday regarding safegauards to protect affiliates in future.

    Kind Regards

I've raised a problem with AWin which might affect others. Say your promoting games consoles, and you'd like to display the whole category for PS3 consoles, there is no option!!! Unless I'm not seeing it, Woolworths don't have a category for any console, just a category for the games themselves! The way around this was to use deeplink keyword searches, but these are now not available.

Hopefully woolworths will sort out their categories!!!

(I have every confidence AWin will have a work around, but just wanted to share, incase anyone else was thinking of raising this!)

    Hi All,

I am pleased to confirm that linking to Woolworths search pages has now been restored.

You can now use the deeplink generator to create links to Woolworths search pages, as well as links to other areas of the site.

A typical link created via the deeplink generator should look like this:-

    Code:
    http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=1219&id=!!!id!!!&p=http://www.woolworths.co.uk/web/jsp/affiliate.jsp?url=http://www.woolworths.co.uk/web/jsp/fredhopper/index.jsp?fh_location=%252f%252fwwgroup%252fen_GB%252fapplication%253ewwsite%252fcategories%253c%257b3%257d&op=search&fh_search=bouncy+castles&x=0&y=0
Please be advised that the deeplink generator may encode these links.

All linking to the Woolworths site should now be resolved. If anyone has any further queries please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Kind Regards
    Anthony Clements
