Is anyone else having trouble downloading the new feeds from Buy.at?

HMV and ASDA recently segmented their feeds into smaller product categories, so I've updated the download URL for these new feeds. The problem is the utility I use to grab them only downloads approx 3KB of data, I then try to unzip them using Gzip and they are not valid zip files.

The old style links work fine (despite the certificate error)
    eg. https://users.buy.at/mgt/productfeed...v3.php?OEMAIL=....

Whereas these new links don't work at all for me.
    eg. https://users.buy.at/ma/index.php/af...wnload/OEMAIL/....

    Hi Darren,

Tech has gotten back to me, rather than mess it up with my wording I'll just quote our esteemed team directly:

"I cannot replicate the same issue. Tested few downloads XMLGZIP, CSVGZIP and they seem OK, no issues when unzipping them.

Could you ask him for more info?

1- What utility is he using?
2- Can he download the full files in plane XML or CSV ok? Or does he get any error? If any error can he send us those errors?

He says "HMV and ASDA recently segmented their feeds into smaller product categories, so I've updated the download URL"

    - can he download the others OK? If yes, it could be that the new URLS are typed/written wrong. He can copy and past the URLs by :
    - going to the Feed download page and click on the Microsoft Excel Icon on the bottom part of summary tab."

Thanks Darren - if you can send through a few more details we'll continue looking into it... you can email me at dan.wright@platform-a.com

    Thanks mate,
    Dan.

Thanks Dan. Would it be better if I logged a support ticket for this?

I Have also reported this issue to BuyAt, support on this is none existant, This will not affect anyone unzipping the gzips in winraw or a desk top application, this rears it head when you are automating your feed download, and unzipping using an automated method.

We use .net and have no problems unzipping files from other networks. when we unzip buyats feeds we were getting a magic number issue, by changing the code to ignore the actual size of the zip and to work off the information in the zip headers we have managed to get the files to unzip, but like the previouse post it only unzips the first 2 products in the feed.

this is due to buyats feeds mis reporting the size of the contained information in the gzip headers, we have tried and tried to get buyat to sort this out, but they have no idea what the problem is and keep repeating that no one else is suffering from this issue.

please if you are also suffering from this please post as this will be the only way BuyAt will wake up and smell the coffee

    Hi Chris,

I'm in the account management team here so didn't know this had been dropped - please accept my apologies.

I've got in touch with the feed management team and tech and we'll get in touch shortly.

Is there an email address or phone number we can reach you on, as it looks like the guys will need to get in touch if they can't replicate the issue you and Darren are experiencing. PM me or email me at Daniel.Wright@platform-a.com

    Cheers,
    Dan.

    Hi Chris,

I have just sent you an email regarding a possible solution to this issue.

Just for everyone's benefit this issue appears to be a known bug with the .NET Framework as seen here: https://connect.microsoft.com/Visual...edbackID=94794

Here is an article which is an open source implementation which will help resolve the issue: http://icsharpcode.com/OpenSource/SharpZipLib/

If anyone who is experiencing similar issues could try this for their ZIP and/or GZIP feed files that would be appreciated.

Please let me know if this does not solve the problem and we can take things further from there.

    Kind regards,

This doesnt fix the problem, but did raise another point we are looking at. we are testing this now and will post here for the benifit of all if this is successful

I should point out that this doesnt affect zip or gzip files in general, we use zip files from tradedoubler Affiliate Window DGM, etc without any problems, we also use Gzips from CJ without any problems, it is just BuyAts feeds that cause us a problem so the fault can not really be laid at .net frameworks door
