Thread: Potential Affiliate Window Tracking Problem - Mexicana

I wasn't wanting to make this public before I had a response from Affiliate Window. However, I have now sent them two emails regarding the tracking problem with no reply.

The merchant involved is Mexicana. We've made two sales, both for £0.00. After enquiring with the support company which handled Mexicana's promotion (email found on the affiliate window site) they revelad the following reply from Affiliate Window:

"I am not sure - it seems to be something to do with the protx secure transaction facility as far as I can tell as the format of the orders does not appear to be the same as normal.

The order reference appears as --protx-- rather than the normal numeric ID. Also a good deal of other commissions appear to be incorrect. It is likley to be to do with the code on your confirmation page with the protx system."

My interpretation is that Affiliate Window are aware of a generalised tracking problem with Mexicana and are continuing to promote the merchant whilst knowing this.

I've now removed all Mexicana links and suggest you do also, at least until we hear from Affiliate Window.

    Ah protx

don't you just love 'em - not.

The tracking and payment issues probably have something to do with the 'crap' encryption you are required to use to submit order information.

Whats the point in encrypting 'order information' , when a dedicated hacker would just freak the information posted to the cart then continue to the checkout.

It not the fault of Mexicana, they are probably waiting the month for a reply from protx!

I see the problem being certainly Affiliate Window ..... still promoting an unreliable merchant. And perhaps mexicana is they know about the problem also.

    I would have expected
    1) My emails to have been answered by AWin support
    2) If the above is true for Mexicanas links to be suspected
