We've now posted the pop-up and text link to this competition. It's the first one we have run, and we would really like your feedback. We also are hoping that the film company will work with us in the future, so, it is critical for us to get as much exposure as possible if they are to provide some of the prizes!!! Do let me know what you think...I can give you some more banners and buttons if you need them.

10 WAYS TO LOSE A GUY
This is your chance to win dinner for two and tickets for the film for yourself…plus great prizes for your customers. This is our first competition and also the first joint venture with UIP/Paramount…so we’d really like it to work well (that way we can get the film company to help us in the future).
We’ve got a great competition running from now until 18th April. All you need to do is to promote Date the UK using our special competition links.

Offer your visitors the chance to win dinner for two to the value of £70 plus tickets to see the great new film "how to lose a guy in 10 days" which opens in cinemas on 18th April.
Plus: 5 second prizes of a pair of tickets to see How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

Plus: 10 runner up prizes of make-up brushes and vest tops.
All your visitors have to do is register with Date the UK, the fastest growing online dating site in the UK and complete a simple tie-breaker question…

Your visitors will get a free trial of up to 48 hours on Date the UK, just for completing a profile and posting a picture…

We have uploaded HTML text and a popup to send out to your database of subscribers and banners and buttons can be made available. If you’d like a preview of what your customers will see, just go to www.datetheuk.com/10.htm

    YOUR REWARD

The affiliate who shows the biggest increase in commission revenue from Date the UK based on comparing 20 March to 3rd April inclusive with the campaign period 4th April to 18th April inclusive will win a pair of tickets for the film and a meal for two to the value of £70 at a restaurant of their choice.
If you have any requirements specific to this campaign, please contact me directly.

To qualify for inclusion in the promotion, Affiliates must have been active for the entire evaluation period. Date the UK offer 40% commission on sales and a minimum payment of £0.50 for a registration based on a 30 day cookie.

<em><strong>Headmaster:</strong> All right, settle down, settle down.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Now before I begin the lesson will those of you
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp who are playing in the match this afternoon move your clothes
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp down on to the lower peg immediately after lunch before you
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp write your letter home, if you're not getting your hair cut,
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp unless you've got a younger brother who is going out this
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp weekend as the guest of another boy, in which case collect his
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp note before lunch, put it in your letter after you've had your
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp hair cut, and make sure he moves your clothes down onto the
    &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp lower peg for you. </em>

    ... makes as much sense to me <img src=http://www.gamers-forums.com/smilies/cwm/3dlil/errr.gif ALT="0]"> .

Sorry Fiona, but your competition's guidelines seem very complicated for what seems little reward.

woops, we thought it was simple...you post the link (either the pop-up or the text link)...it increases your traffic and commission...your customers get prizes...the greatest increase through Awin gets a prize for themselves too?

Prizes partly from the film company, partly from us...and if it works we will offer more, but we offer a relatively high commission level anyway and this is an added bonus...

    Open to suggestions!

    Thanks for the comp...

few points that may be useful.

    1. The destination page doesn't actually mention the competition - it does help reaffirm to the visitor the competition is genuine (and we're not sending them on a wild goose chase) if the destination page is clearly a competition. There's currently nothing on the page that makes it look like it's related to the competition description.

    2. No terms and conditions - when does the competition close? how are the tiebreakers judged? who will judge them? will they judged on merit or just pulled out of a hat - i.e. a prize draw.

    3. Does an entrant need to become a full member to qualify their entry?

    Hope these help

thanks for that, will address those issues today...wonderful what an extra pair of eyes does!

re: does a competitor have to become a full member...well, no payment is necessary, the destination page registration is all that is needed..is that what you mean? do you think we should say...'no purchase necessary'??? (I'm no expert at competitions/prize draws)

think we've done all those things now...

also added a button and banner to the stuff on AWIN...

At the moment the pop-up is our top performing link (12% clickthrough to the site)...so, I guess we must be doing something right?

    and thanks for the advice!
