"20.03.2003 - The end of the banner"

I think it's a marketing campaign to make you curious about their product feeds.

I think you're right - I guess it's gonna be officially launched on the 20th.

A bit odd to send an email like that, though. In fact, it's just another email to clutter up my inbox

I was wondering if it is from a dissillusioned employee who is predicting the demise of AWin.

Very odd. I guess we'll have to wait until the 20th to see.

Basically it's another useless junk email - another for my huge 'deleted items' box.

We get enough junk already without Awin joining in!

I got one that shows as two graphics in eudora -and no text?
(It'll show up I'm sure if I send it to the browser but that'll be something for later on today I think. I suspect I can withstand the excitement)

XML feeds? Nah, you're all barking up the wrong tree.

I got an email yesterday :-

    "Hi,
Welcome to Year 2003. As a business striving towards uncluttered and paperless options, we have introduced a new feature.

    Throw away your calendars!

Each day, AWIN will email you the date. No more 'What date is it?'.

    Until tomorrow,

    Hannah ;o)
    "

MonkeyMan is correct, we now plan to email all affiliates the date every day, in order to load test our new mailserver

In honour of the new date service, we are removing all banners from the affiliate window system

No, Seriously, this is a 'teaser' email about the XML/SOAP feed, which is being made availiable to everyone from tommorrow. I have no idea about marketing and all that gumpf but it does seem to have generated some interest.

Well (pant pant) thank goodness for that, Marc. I'm very pleased it's not actually something the merchants need to know about in advance and prepare for or take advantage of <img src=http://www.gamers-forums.com/smilies/otn/funny/moon.gif ALT=":moon"> .
