Can you confirm that this 'ruling' will only apply to sales from my voucher code sites, therefore if my affiliate ID makes a sale from a 'normal' site i assume i'll get my full commission still.
Could anyone from AW take the time to answer my question above, so i can make an informed decision on whether i want to continue to work with Comet?

This action is seriously making me consider implementing a click to reveal method on my code site, as i'm already losing enough commission to my competitors, as i currently allow users to freely access my codes without forcing them to click links.

To help you and others better understanding of your business model, i would suggest you create a diagramatic illustration. Stick it on here and on your site for refrence.
Thanks for that tijan, I think that will be the best solution... I've spent this morning trying to explain the very basics, not done any diagramtic illustrations as yet but I think what i've explained so far should help...

A basic explanation for merchants of what iCodes and Pagerank10 are all about

    HI Ash,

That's correct. I appreciate this isn't an ideal solution and will update you if anything changes.

    Thanks,

How will this new validation work?

If I login to awin and see commission today, is that commission already validated to say that it did use a code, or will validation happen at a later date? (i'm not talking about the normal validation, for returns, etc. i understand that will happen later)

    Hi,

To my knowledge (and I'll post if this is different to how the system will work) we'll decline those sales that do not have a voucher code attached, therefore it will happen after the event.

    Thanks for the reply Kevin.

Not that i would use this method, but do you / Comet know how easy it would be for an affilate to cloak a link from a non-voucher code site, so your reports would show the last referring url as a non-code site and said affiliate would therefore receive full commission regardless of code usage.

I'm sure this would be an attractive option for some of the bigger VC sites.

    Hi Ash,

I appreciate the difficulties but we will be monitoring the activity.

Ultimately it's about whether affiliates want to work with Comet in a transparent way. Anyone looking to deceive or cheat the system would be contacted and dealt with accordingly.

transparent - so sales removed with no code would be shown in declines and not removed from the system?

I have been away from the computer for a few days, so sorry if this is an obvious question.

Can I put my links to comet back up then On my voucher directory?

Just if a voucher is not used I dont get commission.

Hi, Can you explain in more detail how this validation will work please? Will it be manual or automatic? Does it happen weeks later or on the day of purchase? Will the commission i see on a daily basis be worthless until the validation has happend? How accurate will this validation be?

I'm extremely surpised that a completely new validation has been brought in, which is completely in the favour of the merchant, but no one has told affiliates how this will be undertaken.

Also what are the results of the 3 month comet trial. You must appreciate that the trial was painful for affiliates. We have spent time, money, and effort to build up natural traffic to our comet pages, then we are told to stop earning money. Now they want our business again, but put very strict techniques in place to reduce commission. Comet seem to have the same attitude as ASOS they think we are all grubby affiliate.
