  Claims4Free.co.uk - Explanation

Hi, my name is Mike Beverley and I run Claims4Free.co.uk and its accompanying affiliate program on Affiliate Window which just started today. Personal injury claims is a controversial subject due to the numerous fraudulent companies out there preying on those who are not aware of the legal terms and their statutory rights. I thought it prudent to give an explanation to set any possible affiliates at ease as the last thing you want is to be associated with a company that ends up on WatchDog - but the less about Claims Direct the better! A point of interest though, some of the solicitors on our panel were the ones called in to help ‘clean up’ after Claims Direct went bust taking millions of pounds of client’s money with it. That should give you an indication of the level of experience and professionalism our solicitors have to display before becoming part of our service.

Firstly, personal injury claims themselves – are they just for lazy good-for-nothings who claim they tripped over a paving slab just to try and con a bit of cash out the council? Well, certainly there are many unscrupulous firms out there who will pursue such cases as the councils tend to pay out rather than go to court. Why? Well, at a Manchester City Council meeting not so long ago it was reported that the estimated cost of repairing all the damaged streets would amount to around £14 million for that year. The estimated cost of compensation for the same year was only around £2 million …. so you can see, the council saves around £12 million by letting the little old ladies fall over and paying out for injuries. The council has to rely on solicitors being fair and only putting forward legitimate cases for honest clients.
Claims handling firms got a bad press as it turned out that some of them were distorting the facts and exaggerating the details of a case to get it pursued by a solicitor - as once a solicitor agreed to take a case on, the claims handler got paid.

Claims4Free.co.uk has a completely transparent system which is detailed to the client all over the web site and stated clearly in the terms and conditions. We do receive a fee from the solicitor should they accept a case based in England or Wales, but for Scottish cases we are under a ‘you get nothing, we get nothing’ arrangement. In other words the solicitor does not pay us unless the personal injury case actually WINS. In this respect solicitors prefer to deal with us as we will only pass through legitimate cases as there is no profit in us trying to deceive them. This is how we have come to build links with over 150 solicitors firms around the country.

“But what about all this ‘No win, no fee’ and ‘100% compensation’ stuff we keep seeing on the telly!”
Glad you asked … in England and Wales nearly every solicitor will offer you a no win no fee arrangement. If they don’t, you’ll soon find one that does. So a firm offering ‘No win, no fee’ is not really offering anything exciting and new, it’s been this way for almost five years. ‘100% of your compensation’ is even less of a sales-pitch as in England and Wales you will get that anyway - by law the solicitor’s fees are automatically paid by the losing side unless your solicitor has made un-necessary expenses in which case you can sue the solicitor for the mistake.
On the other hand; Scottish cases, Uninsured and Untraced motorist cases, Medical Negligence cases, Criminal Injuries cases and some others are not covered by this guarantee. Which is why if you hear the phrase ‘100% of your compensation’ you can be sure that they will not be taking on any of these types of claims, which isn’t fair really and I think they should have to state that on the advert.

Claims4Free.co.uk takes on all types of cases from all parts of the country and gets them in front of a qualified solicitor for review. Why do you need a claims handler? The solicitors on our panel are the best at what they do and are highly specialised, for them to actually sit down with every person that thinks they may or may not have a case would be a waste of their abilities. They need to be constantly working on cases, not vetting new ones – that’s where we come in. We check the case to see if it is valid and meets certain criteria (e.g. the case has to be worth over £1000 in compensation or else it goes to a small claims court) and then we forward it to the solicitor most adept to tackling that type of case. You wouldn’t want an Employer Liability specialist handling a Road Traffic accident would you? Plus, there are only 11 firms in the UK that competently deal with Medical Negligence claims and we are associated with the longest running one.

I realise I’ve nattered away for a bit but I felt that an explanation of the personal injury claims arena might help those of you who weren’t sure whether this type of business would be a suitable addition to your site. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me or post them here.
