  Feed Question

Hi,

Im just starting to parse the John Lewis feed (my first AWin feed to play with).

The thing is - I notice two fields - a john lewis deeplink, and an AWdeeplink.

So - stooooopid question - is it the AWdeeplink i need to output to my webpages?

If so - what (out of interest) is the point of having the John Lewis deeplink on there.

Cheers
All answers appreciated.

  Re: Feed Question

Hi Fiver_321

The AWdeeplink is the link that you should be using on your site. The John Lewis link is where the AWdeeplink redirects through to (no tracker links are on the merchant's deeplink).

The main use of the merchant's deeplink is to allow affiliates access to spider the site without going through AW redirects.

Thanks

  Re: Feed Question

Thanks Chris.

Another question.

I am going to place the awdeeplink in a .js file which does a location.replace with the link.

The .js file will be brought into my html file (which the user sees) via an include.

The .js (ie location.replace(awdeeplink)) will be executed when the user clicks on the picture of the item on my page. (or on some text which says "click here to purchase at ...")

Will this setup correct track sales.

It does on some american feeds ive used - but its down to awin at this stage.

Cheers
Fiver

  Re: Feed Question

Hi Fiver

As long as the traffic is being directed through the AWdeeplink the tracking will work correctly.

Regards
