IWOOT Offer 20% Commission!

There were a few raised eyebrows internally when I suggested we pay our affiliates more money. Talk of “commercial viability”, “job losses” and “bottom line profits” came into conversation almost as often as those pesky men in white coats that have tailed me throughout my career.

Luckily everybody in the office knows that it only takes a few whiskeys and the MD is anyone’s. So we racked our brains to determine the best way to incentivise the affiliate community, 15% to all affiliates who send 100 sales in the month? 16% to all affiliates who send over 1000 clicks maybe?

In the end we gave up thinking of clever ways to limit our generosity and decided we’ll give all affiliates 20% commission for the entire month of August! So whether you send one click, one sale or a lorry load, that’s 20% commission on everything.

I’d like to think we haven’t lost our marbles, well not all of them anyway. To our current affiliates, this is our way of saying huge thanks for all your hard work this year. We hope the increased commission rate will give you a little more freedom, allow you to test new ideas to promote us or simply pay for a few rounds at the bar (don’t forget to invite us!).

For new affiliates, this is the opportunity to come on board with IWOOT and find out what we’re all about. It’s no secret that Christmas is the time to be jumping on the gifting bandwagon and we wanted to give all affiliates old and new the opportunity to experiment with minimized financial risk.

“Just what do affiliates want?” is a question asked by affiliate managers time and again which is always greeted with the reply “higher commissions”...

We submit to your demands.

So if you are an existing IWOOT affiliate you will automatically be put on a 20% commission, while all new affiliates are welcome to join us now to enjoy the same rate for the remainder of the month.

Thats the best testament we could have had. I wanted to do something that really did say thanks to our affiliates for their efforts and I think this is the best way to reward all.

Indeed Firebox run a pretty slick affiliate operation, we're lucky to have such great competitors as it ensures we're always forward thinking and looking for improvement.

According to the Awin Index our conversion rate for July was 5.79% which is quite healthy and will deffinately improve in the coming months. We're working on a number of projects that will allow us to better aid our affiliates and imporove conversion rate.

As always we are looking for improvement of the campaign so should any affiliates have ideas as to how we could do better to help you then don't hesitate to contact me.

I don't understand the difference in conversion between yourselves and firebox. I advertise you both for the same products, of which IWOOT get more clicks through, but the conversation is significantly lower. Its very straight. I think maybe its just a awareness thing, more Joe Bloggs know who firebox are, maybe following some of their marketing stragegies might help, i know they provide more mail/magazine shots that you etc.

Either way, this is what happens for me, might be the opposite for others, but i'm greatful for the opportunity to gain more commission and will push hard on IWOOT's products this month

It could be due to so many factors Ian, but just so you know how great IWOOT are, they convert 15% better than Firebox for me and account for 67% of my gadget sales

There you go, as i said, suppose it depends on what sites you run etc. 67% of gadget sales for you, i'm sure your delighted with their 20% commission

Just a quick update, we've had a lot of requests for new banners so our creative team have been busy and these are now available from your affiliate window control panel - look for the banner group "Summer 07".

We've also put together a summer email creative which is again available from the affiliate window creative section, I fully reccomend sending before it starts to rain again!
