  Woolworth's question?

I sell a few bits and bits via shopwindow and wanted to know whether other affiliates can reassure me with this merchant.

I have had 7 sales via WoolWOrths over last 2 months or so. Quite large sales totalling something like £70-£80 in commission. Now, every single has been declined by Woolowrth's either for the item being returned, cancelled or annulled somehow.

Now I find 7 declined sales in a row rather odd. If I were a betting man I would say the odds are rather long. I don't think I have ever cancelled an online order personally.

Anyone else got a similar experience with Woolowrths?

cheers

  Re: Woolworth's question?

I don't particularly bother with Woolworth, I put a link up a couple of months ago as a tester, had a £400 of sales (£20 comm), thought hey this could be OK, only to have them reversed 2 weeks later, have to be honest never bothered with them after that, no I didn't give them a proper test at a paltry 5% it wasn't worth it.

  Re: Woolworth's question?

In the space of a week last November I had 8 sales rejected out of 9 with over £80 commission. Not had any rejections since March so overall been paid more than I've been declined but rejection rate still higher than anywhere else for me.

  Re: Woolworth's question?

When I questioned AW on this they did not indicate there was any problem with this merchant but I felt something was wrong. They were also not keen for me to post in here about it and, perhaps, now I know why.

About 89% of our sales with Woolworths are approved (figures from 1st Jan 2007 to today), based on several thousand sales.

Gunneradt (again),
As was indicated there is no problem. We also did not say we where not keen on you posting about this! Validations are indeed very high. 89% that HeresJonny reports is typical of this.

Again Gunneradt, there is no conspiracy and no coverup.

  Re: Woolworth's question?

Did you ask Woolworth or AW before the post? As their could be a simple explanation i.e the same person with fruadulent cards and your cookie keep triggering the sales. That in not uncommon is retail.

If you had not been in touch with either of them then it is unfair to point the finger to either organisation before they have a chance to investigate.

  Re: Woolworth's question?

I had given Woolworths two months to reply on the matter (the first 4/5 sales) and then they followed up with 2 more declined sales.

@AW - yes I was told that you would prefer I didn't raise this here. So if we have 11% declined - from the one person who has said they get approvals (I've had a pm from another affiliate who has a problem too) - what are the odds realistically of 7 declined sales in a row - if we were betting people that is.

  Re: Woolworth's question?

Just a quick heads up for everyone. In the interests of transparency we've made conversion/approval/EPC data available to all affiliates for well over a year now.

This information is still not supplied publicly by other leading UK networks - you can make the decision with AWin whether to promote a programme using metrics not readily or comprehensively available from any of our major competitors.

I also distribute quarterly a full summary of all this information on request. I'd be happy to include any other affiliates on this list.

Thanks,

  Smile Re: Woolworth's question?

Just read your post gunneradt ,

tbh I rarely look at declines ever since I had a bad experience with one of the networks and one particular merchant. I spent about 7 hours over a few days trying to find out why I had been declined on 7 out of 8 sales. In the end I just gave up.

Your post did prompt me to check though as I know I have had a fair few WW sales.

Just for information out of the last 34 Woolworths sales all have been paid to date with the exception of 5 which are still pending - so no problem there.

I would pursue some answers though - because it may turn out to be legit declines and perhaps you may end up doing good business in the medium term.

I'm susre the % 'ages for commission are quite good with woolies too... Not certain because I'm terrible at maths.
