Link Changes on Vodafone
Link Changes on Vodafone
Hi everyone
From the 1st November, Vodafone will be using a third party to track and monitor all of their online advertising channels.
This means that you will need to update any deeplinks that you have created using the deeplink generator or update any links that we have personally supplied to you.
What needs changing?
If you have taken links from the admin interface including the default text link, banners or product feeds then your links will be updated automatically.
To update your links to the new format please use the deeplink generator available in your account.
For example:
If linking to this page on the Vodafone site:
Code:
http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/index.cfm?go=paymonthly.productdetails&pid=544
The deeplink generator will add in the following URL to the deeplink:
Code:
http://clk.atdmt.com/VDF/go/ffltwvhp0010000001vdf/direct/01/?href=http://switch.atdmt.com/action/vdfvcn_AWTrackingNot4Statistics_1/v3/ed.!!!id!!!|!!!linkid!!!|!!!gid!!!|!!!productid!!!|!!!clickref!!!/?href=
Making a trackable affiliate link like this:
Code:
http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?awinmid=1257&awinaffid=45628&p=http://clk.atdmt.com/VDF/go/ffltwvhp0010000001vdf/direct/01/?href=http://switch.atdmt.com/action/vdfvcn_AWTrackingNot4Statistics_1/v3/ed.!!!id!!!|!!!linkid!!!|!!!gid!!!|!!!productid!!!|!!!clickref!!!/?href=http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/index.cfm?go=paymonthly.productdetails&pid=544
Why are Vodafone making this change?
Vodafone are using a third party solution to track all of their advertising partners through a single source. The aim of this is to have a greater level of visibility on how each of these channels contributes to their business, so they can optimise their activity across the board.
This is all combined with their change to a per application payment model, again as of November 1st. You can view full details of the new commercial structure in my previous forum post.
Support with Changing your Links
To make sure the process of changing your links goes as smoothly as possible, the Affiliate Window Support Department are on hand to help you. You can reach them on 0870 990 4228, or by using the Awin Live Support messaging service.
When the new commission and linking structure are introduced at the start of next month, the Vodafone Account Management Team will of course also be available to help you every step of the way.
Please feel free to get in touch if there is anything you would like to discuss, including how the new structure will work for your promotion, voucher codes you use, the datafeed, or any other concerns you may have.
Looking forward to working with you on this
Best wishes
Julia
