DIXONS - Important Changes To Discount Codes

Hi there,

Following recent feedback from some of our affiliates we have decided to remove our generic voucher codes for a trial period. However we are launching a wide-range of category specific codes offering richer discounts of up to 20%.

These changes have allowed us to make our headline prices more competitive on key ranges, such as TVs, rather than rely on discount codes. According to the feedback we have received, this should allow affiliates to be more efficient and remove some of the administration from the programme.

From tomorrow we will also be offering free delivery on all large-screen TVs.

We will review the impact of this strategy on the business and would also welcome any feedback you may wish to submit via AW.

All new codes can be found on the usual offer page at:
Dixons - Low Priced Electricals

Kind regards
The Dixons Team

RELEVANT CREATIVE: New banners have been uploaded to the system

EXPIRY DATE & TIME: All codes currently expire at 14:59 Wednesday July 30th 2008

Who were these affiliates? Come forward and explain. Why on earth would not want generic voucher codes - are you crazy? Or do you just love typing hundreds of product specific codes in?

I've got to agree with you ep90 - generic codes are much easier to manage.

Not a big fan of category or product specific codes - takes too long to enter and is a nightmare once codes start getting extended and cancelled...

It wasn't me BUT I do think these codes will work just as well as generic codes and the single landing page is pretty good. Time will tell.

I've still taken the time to add all the codes available on the landing page to my own. Removing 6 generic codes doesn't improve the situation for me. I'd still prefer that you email the codes with deeplinks even if you do have the landing page. It's then at my discretion if I want to spend the time using that information or not. Guess if I wanted to I could just say 'click to reveal' codes. People would love that

Re: DIXONS - Important Changes To Discount Codes

I certainly prefer generic codes, rather than category codes, but don't mind too much as long as they do not change too much over time. Also, if the category codes help to increase commissons all the better! Like Befuddle says, deeplinks would be appreciated.

On a confused side, the landing page is a little inaccurate because Audio & Visual gives up to 20% off and I don't understand why Dixons do not want to advertise this as I certainly will.
