New to AW - bit stuck on link building!
I've been accepted onto PC world with a view to try and flog some netbooks via my site:
The Unofficial Samsung NC10 Community: News
(its a good net book by the way if anyone is looking for one!)
So i'd like to link directly to their page:
So I'd like some direct text links and I can see that they give me a start with:Code:http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1896742772.1227204311@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccckadefkeidddjcflgceggdhhmdgmh.0&category_oid=null&sku=339569&page=Product&fm=undefined&sm=undefined&tm=undefined
But what goes where?Code:<a href="http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=1598&id=85321" target="_blank">PC World</a>
The link into target? But presumably they don't want sessionID in there too? What is needed?
I also looked joined the Maplin program but they dont seem to allow deeplinks, is it not possible to just link through to the relevent cables and things? If not I might try a different program!
Thanks.

PC world and Dixons use Broadvision still I think (unfortunately) which makes deeplinking very difficult.
the basic text link from your admin centre like you posted will take you to the home page.

You are better off downloading the data feed and taking the aff window url from there.
If in doubt just use the basic homepage url - not ideal but at least it will work.

If I can't deep link then I stay well clear of any programme - it's not worth the space on the site or the time it takes.

What Mooga said, [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/9472] - this linking tool really saves me so much time!

I don't think the link builder will work with PC world as the URLs have a lot of garbage id in them?
It's worth getting right though? Just to be sure, the 'buy online and collect in-store' is a good banner to use on the same page, it tends to get more clickthrough than a text link in my experience?
PC World is worth promoting - it's just a shame they persist with the voucher code box at the checkout?

bah why can't things ever be easy!
Yeah the links have loads of garbage in and I don't know what to put out or even where to put the URL once I have it!
So for now I've just linked to the homepage and we'll see what happens.

Hi All,
Yes, PC World do have session ids within their links - so you link format could be...
From this:
To this:Code:http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1896742772.1227204311@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccckadefkeidddjcflgceggdhhmdgmh.0&category_oid=null&sku=339569&page=Product&fm=undefined&sm=undefined&tm=undefined
We do realise this does mean to you need to fiddle around with the links, however it's not something that PC World can fix for the moment. I'll also add this note onto the Program page so affiliates can refer back to this if needed.Code:http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?category_oid=null&sku=339569&page=Product&fm=undefined&sm=undefined&tm=undefined
As fizzbird has suggested you can also use the links within the datafeed too

Thanks guys. I only actually want 3 deeplinks right now so I will just look at creating the manually! It's nice having a site so niche there are only 3 main models to promote
