Do I always need to tick the display signature button to add my sig to posts? I just want it to be displayed all the time.

Saying that, I can't find any mention of it when I'm adding this new post

You can see a screenshot here.

Since I feel like a rant, why is there no border around the text box I'm typing in? The text just floats in an undefined area that is teeny compared to the available room on the page, and as soon as you fill it, a scroll bar suddenly appears, hanging in the ether. It just looks daft.

Having said that, the performance in Firefox is a marked improvement over the previous iteration, with all that a4u awards malarkey in the background. Used to make a4u unusable in it at times.

Still hanker after the old VB smileys though - what happened to the ones that used to be stored at

    http://www.affiliates4u.com/site_images/icons/ ?

    Cheers

    Ben

As far as I can tell also signatures are defaulted to on so we'll need to look into this for you .

    Hey Pete,

    Windows XP with Firefox 3.6

As for the signature, there isn't a tick box to turn it on or off unless you post the thread, then edit your post afterwards. In fact there are a number of options that are not available unless you edit the post afterwards :
    • Automatically parse links in text
    • Automatically retrieve titles from external links
    • Disable smilies in text

It really annoys when the system retrieves the titles and they're huge. I would prefer to be able to keep that switched off permanently, and at the very least I should have the ability to turn it off when I first make the post?

And when you 'Go Advanced' there is no longer the last few posts displayed in descending chronological order, so if you're trying to reply to a complicated post with a number of points (such as my rant ) you have to open the original thread in a separate window and switch back and forth from it. If you didn't want to add the previous posts to the bottom, you could have launched the 'Go Advanced' window in a popup so that the author could still see the details of the thread as they replied.

Spleen feels a little better now!

    Cheers

    Ben

    Hi Pete,

I seem to be having a similar problem with my signature - only when adding new posts however. When I reply to a thread my signature shows....

    Can you advise?

    Thanks!

    Bump. Any update on this?

The reply to post or edit post screens give me the option to do all sorts, including adding a sig, while the add new post doesn't.

    Cheers

Only the last two have the option to add my signature, and it doesn't add it by default. The full screenshots you can see here:

    Hi Ben,

I'm seeing the same as you also - unless we are both special :-)

Same here. I also find the new system doesn't automatically convert hyperlink text into working links so have to advanced edit each post I write.
