    Hi,

I was thinking about applying to webuyanycar.com but I've just had a quick look at their additional terms and conditions:

    SEM Restrictions:
Can the brand name be used in the url?
    No
Can the brand name be used in the title?
    No
Can the brand name be used in the text?
    No
    Is deeplinking allowed?
    Yes

    URL and ad copy restrictions:
Can affiliates use the brand name in their url?
    No
Can affiliates use the brand name in the sub domain or directory url of their own website?
    Yes
As there are separate PPC and SEM sections I can only assume that the SEM section refers to organic search results. This seems to be saying that the name of the merchant cannot be used in the url, title or text of any page that is submitted to a search engine. If this is the case, how can the merchant be promoted? If this section actually refers to PPC adverts, please could this be made clearer? If it does refer to PPC adverts what does the 'Is Deeplinking Allowed?' question refer to?

When it later says that the brand name can be included in the sub domain or directory url of their own website, this seems to directly conflict with earlier clauses.

    Some clarification would be useful.

    Hi there

I will get further clarification from the person responsible for this program and get back to you as soon as possible. If you need anything else in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

    Best regards

    Hey there,

You're right not overly clear that is it. We're currently looking to review all of our clients t's and c's.

When the IAB issued the standardised program t's and c's checklist, we tried to esnure that all areas where covered by the clients t's and c's. In many instances, perhaps the terms can be slightly complex for clients on occassion and if a question is asked of someone's brand it's easier to say no.

I've spoken with the client and will have these terms amended removing the terms relating to SEM

    Cheers,

    Kev
