    Hi guys,
Hope someone can help. I am trying to set up Google Analytics to record site search.
I have turned this function on in the settings and in the Query Parameter (required): I have entered
    eshop.asp?wci=search&wce=

The URL when someone searches on our site is for instance
www outdoorgear co uk/eshop.asp?wci=search&wce=jacket&go.x=0&go.y=0 when someone searches for Jacket
www outdoorgear co uk/eshop.asp?wci=search&wce=small+tent&go.x=0&go.y=0 when someone searches for Small Tent

I thought we would therefore need to enter eshop.asp?wci=search&wce= in order for Google to know what to look for, but I am recording no site search results at all
Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

    Cheers
    Paul

    Hi,
Here's an example of our Kitbag.com search urls:

    Code:
    http://www.kitbag.com/stores/kitbag_4_5/products/search_products.aspx?search=manchester+united+home+shirt
The parameter I put in Google Analytics is as follows:

    Query Parameter (required):
Use commas to separate multiple parameters (5 max)
    Code:
    search
That is, just the word search on it's own in the box that Google lets you enter into.

Hope this helps. I think there's sometimes a few hours lag in Google Analytics ..... so give it chance to work, if you see what I mean.

    Hi,
Thanks for the advice. I ended up trying just the word search as well (as our urls are outdoorgear.co.uk/eshop.asp?wci=search&wce=tent) but still nothing even after 24 hrs.

My fear is that I would need to use wce as this is the last bit of the url, trouble with that is we use this on all catagory pages as well e.g.
outdoorgear.co.uk/eshop.asp?wci=SubDept&wce=150 so this wouldn't work for us.

It annoys me that I can set up the program to work with off the shelf stuff like zencart in about 2 seconds, but with oursite everything seems to take for ever to work out!

Oh well, back to the drawing board.
    Cheers
    Paul
