Review my sites plz..

Hi Everyone,

I have been designing affiliate and merchant websites for years. I am currently reviewing some websites in terms of usability and accessibility. I thought it would be useful to get some cool ideas from the affiliate community. Don't worry i am not trying to promote the sites here .. i just need some ideas to improve them as i have got a long bank weekend ahead..

Affiliates Sites:
Guide 4 Shopping UK
Shop Mania UK
Shopping Guiden Denmark
Shopping Guide USA

Merchant Sites:
Christy Towels
Sleeping Valley (currenly working on it)

Any section or option you believe could be improved on these sites?

I'm going to give you some tips for Guide 4 Shopping, im not going to do the other sites because the post would be far too long!

FIRST GLANCE

On a first glance I didnt really know what you did, sounds strange because you actually explain what you do on the homepage but it doesnt really stand out. Internet users have a very small amount of time to check out websites and if you dont get their attention with a few seconds then its back to Google to find another site.

The 100% cashback thing? Whats that about?

If I were a general visitor I would take one look at that and think it was a scam! You would be better off displaying up to 25% cashback on all your purchases as it sounds a little more realistic and also very intriging.

LOGO

Your logo looks very basic and looks like it took about 3 minutes, I know it didnt take 3 minutes as I know how long it takes to design the correct logo that you like. But I am writing this as if I were a general visitor. It looks cheap and nasty and unprofessional, if I cam to this site from Google I would look at the logo and think "hmmmmm, they are not very keen to make a good logo so they cant be very trustworthy" and that tied in with 100% cashback seems like a very big scam.

You may think that I am slating your site here, I'm trying not to but im simply giving you some positive criticism to help you improve, so please dont take it the wrong way.

VOUCHER CODES

When searching for a voucher code, I have realised that you are doing the "click to view" thing. This is now against regulations and you could be banned from your affiliate networks or programmes.
It is also very irratating, I understand the logic that the visitor has the cookie saved but why risk this on getting banned altogether and also annoying your visitor. The visitor may get annoyed, go back to Google, find another voucher code site, click through and your cookie will get overwritten by the new site. So its a waste of time and effort.

TO FINISH

I have listed a few areas where you can improve and hope it helps. I may be a little blunt when it comes to reviews but there is no point beating around the bush when you want to improve your site. There are other areas where you can improve and increase CTR, ROI & SEO results. If you would like me to write a full in-depth review for you covering all areas please let me know. (Obviously there will be a charge for this).

By and large agree with the poster above - but more fundamentally I'd say it looks amateurish. Purple and blue isn't great - some simple CSS changes to ensure colour & font consistency & modernity might go a long way. This is one of those cases where a little work might make a large difference imo.
