That story is a complete load of rubbish. The BBC keep recycling Webroot's press releases without giving them any sort of sanity check. Sure - spyware is a big problem, but Webroot are a commercial company who sell anti-spyware solutions and are over-hyping it.

I actually sent an email off the the BBC to criticise them for recycling press releases in this way. Lazy journalism.
