Hi all,
Just wanted to drop you all a quick email to introduce myself as the new Chair of the Affiliate Marketing Council.
Following on from Matt Bailey’s tenure I think this year represents a great opportunity to build on the successes of 2009. We shouldn’t underestimate the significance of what was collaboratively achieved last year. The voucher code guidelines, ethical merchant charter and additional best practice guidance show a collective will to drive professionalism and transparency for all areas of affiliate marketing.
That we have a group of individuals working behind the scenes dedicating their time to these projects is a significant achievement that I hope will go from strength to strength in 2010.
This year I think we’d all like to see the Council continue down the same route and I’d also like us all to focus our energies on spreading the word about the great work we all do.
Specific projects I hope people will throw their weight behind include the formation of sub-committees to ensure the monthly meetings are effective as possible, best practice guidelines for merchant product feeds and the roll out of the Council's agreed rebate catcher/downloadable software guidelines.
I also hope additional communication methods will help to engage with a wider audience.
I’d welcome as many of you to volunteer your services and expertise as this will be the only way the Council will achieve it’s ambitious plans for 2010.
I'll be using this forum to update everyone on the issues and developments as the year progresses, hopefully stimulating debate and discussion in the process.
For those who weren't in attendance last week here are the minutes from the meeting:
