IF...and only IF those quotes with reference to an authorative figure within CJ is true, then it can be accurately perceived he is just simply shirking his duty and responsibilities to publishers.

When we attended CJU in September, we brought up WhenU with a very similar response, wanting to move on to the next subject quite rapidly.

Adolf Hitler didn't have a criminal record or was charged with war crimes etc... so those quotes...well....make up your own interpretation.

Mobile Outlet is another of our programs with duality but the one that interests me most is Virgin Wines but for some reason no one has ever commented on it and we know loads of board users use it though other networks

Do you have proof of this then drooper? It appears to be contradictory to their Code of Conduct
The code of conduct is a pile of poo that the networks hide behind. Many affiliates including myself regard the code of conduct as a licence to steal. It was put in place by people who elected themselves to represent you and I. Every time the parasites get caught with their pants down they get 60 days to fix it. How does a code of conduct prevent someone elses popup appearing on your site? The code of conduct is a farce.

This is a quote from an affiliate on a public forum
I wonder when they (cj.com) push these parasites on merchants and "Let them decide" if they happen to mention ANY negative business practices, affiliate opinions, etc.
    This is Todd Crawford's response
Yes, we do. There is no deception going on - we are always straight forward about these issues with our advertisers.
Cj.com actively approach merchants in order to promote parasites to them

It looks like AW are doing the decent thing. Here's a section from their latest newsletter:

We would also like to announce that we have given notice to cancel the account of an affiliate who was promoting merchants via a piece of software included with some filesharing applications. I know that there has been a lot of disquiet and discussion amongst affiliates that certain types of software are inappropriate for an affiliate network. After looking into the issue, we agree, and have hence taken action. Thank you to those affiliates who contacted us regarding these issues.

Well done to AW - there's a lot more common merchants there to add to the list.

    So that just leaves -

    DGM - apathetic
    TD - apathetic
CJ - apparently pro-parasiteware (based on comments on other forums)

Let's hope that the first two are quitely dealing with the problem in the background in the same way that AW have.

Would also be nice if someone from OMG would give us their stance.

Just a thought - DGM are a plc and therefore accountable to their shareholders (of which there must be a few on this forum).

Perhaps someone should question the board at the next AGM about it's dealings with affiliates using 'dodgy' tactics that could be damaging to the company's long term future.

    Good work Affiliate Window!

    This is fantastic news.

It now means there are just a couple of networks left.

Tradedoubler said they were looking into it over 3 months ago now and should really have had time to come up with a decision either way by now.

Looks like we can safely assume CJ are not going to be doing anything about this - which is cool as I think Malcolm could probably get most of their merchants.

    Top!

Sorry to be pedantic but we're all assuming that Aff Window have thrown off 180 solutions but their newsletter does not explicitly say so - I'm pretty sure they mean 180 but would like them to confirm this - otherwise - heaven forbid - but it means there's another parasite on the networks.

It means 180 Solutions. We have given them 7 days notice.

Please let us know (directly) if you believe there are affiliates on the network promoting merchants in this way and we will investigate.

    Hi
Good news from AW but I have a question.

Are we going to see a rise in sales as these commission stealers go or is the user just going to get alot of errors when the nasty software rewrites URLS with affiliate IDs that have expires - or dont I quite understand what is going on?

    Great Job Mark
Having AW Clean makes a big difference to things as you have many duplicate merchants
