Speaking at the RSA Conference Tuesday, Microsoft chairman Bill Gates said the company's recently released anti-spyware product will remain free for personal use.

"Just as spyware is something that we have to nip down today, we have decided that all licensed Windows users should have that protection at no charge," Gates said.

Very good news, especially after reinstalling 180 solutions' software last week and seeing how big a problem spyware still is. Hopefully this will mean it doesn't really matter that some networks don't care about the problem or their partners - depends how strongly MS push it. As its a competative product, I doubt they will be allowed to include it on windows update.
