    CoolWebSearch tops spyware threat list

CoolWebSearch, adware that generates more than US$300 million a year for its maker, is the "Ebola" of adware, and easily the most significant spyware threat on the internet, an anti-spyware security firm said this week.

I've had msn antispyware beta installed for a week or so now and I've had 180 try to install twice, IST bar and a veritable plethora of other "helper" objects...

the chances of the average punter not having a 3 course menu of this crap on are minimal without antispyware programs being installed and even then they don't all work properly

"arse" is the word you're looking for.

The simple solution? Don't use Internet Explorer.

Yeah not using IE looks like a solution to prevent ourselves getting spyware but only for the time being.

The bigger problem is helping joe bloggs not get spyware and unfortunately the ones that are savy enough to consider using Firefox or similar are probably savy enough to install antispyware anyway.

I don't that much.. I'm a Opera nut.. it's so manymore features than IE anyway

but there are still some designers out there that don't check their code in anything except IE and sometimes it don't work
