Not sure if anyone here has gotten it yet, but as always there's a new msn virus going around. This one opens all your contact windows and tries to get your buddies to click a link, which then infects them with the virus.

Now I'm not sure how this affiliate could use this for financial game, other than maybe people clicking on the site without the extra URL bit to download the file. But the site which hosts the virus file, is the same site that is an affiliate mask of another site.

This guy seems to be an affiliate of BoxedArt.com, and basically his domain is just a frame mask of the other site with his affiliate id in it. So I'm assuming that this same affiliate could be the guy that is annoying the crap out of me with this virus, but what can be done about him?

BoxedArt.com obviously don't allow this sort of behaviour, and I have emailed them but they really don't seem to give a toss to be honest. I have been informed that the information would be passed onto their affiliate department, which is just a brush off because I didn't give them the specifics they would need to track down the affiliate.

So, anyone got any ideas? And is it ok to post specifics here so you can all see which domain it is, who it is, and proof that the virus does exist?

You should contact the offenders web host as it'll break their terms & conditions and they will have to sort it out.

I was going to try that but I have a sneaky feeling that this person owns the web host that he's hosting with. The web host doesn't seem to have a site, other than a big white page that displays the nameservers, not very professional. Don't think going that route will get this guy sorted out.

Send it to a virus alert company and all three, host, merchant and affiliate will be in bother.
