Why is it not a promotion?

Plenty of wise people book in advance - though I can't say I'm one of them smart cookies.

You may be too young to remember this, but only 20 years ago mail order companies used to take up to 28 days for delivery.

I believe the promotion is that more rooms are available than usual. So in theory you can get a £19 room from selected locations at any time but the promotion signals greater availability across more destinations.

Incidentally a Hitwise report this week highlighted that searches for budget travel sites increased by 5.3% in September 2008 compared to the same month last year.

Travelodge's site was the fastest growing. The hotel chain experienced a 34% increase in UK internet visits between September 2007 and 2008.

Due to budgetary restrictions we've temporarily hidden the campaign so no new affiliates can join but I can add occasional affiliates on a ad hoc basis dependent on activity.

Quick update from Travelodge:

Not every room in the Travelodge estate is £19 if booked 21 days in advance. This has never been the case, Travelodge has a range of rates available at the hotels. The £19 rates tend to be promotional and most hotels (depending on location) will have prices from £29 (but others rates will be available).

In terms of T&Cs,
£19 Saver rooms have a requirement to book at least 21 days in advance
£29 Saver rooms have to be booked at least 7 days in advance.
