Hats off to all involved. Really nice to see a sector that isn't usually active in the channel embrace it.

Thanks for the kind words Duncan,

Working on a leading brand such as Monster.co.uk with a goal to enter a non traditional channel such as Affiliate has been very challenging for all parties but also very exciting. We’re all aware that this isn’t your straight forward ecommerce store play but this only served to get the creative juices going. A lot of hard work went into the preparation and research for this programme and we’re all glad to see it launch.

While it may not appeal to some of the popular affiliate website formats, in reality it’s very easy for people to partner with the Monster programme.

Got a website based on recruitment, career advice, CV writing?
Well this shouldn’t be hard at all, the match is perfect.

Got a website based on location? (London, Manchester, etc)
No problem, simply sort jobs by location or add a job section to your location based website.

Got a website surrounding a specific Sector or Vertical? Maybe you have an affiliate blog
No problem, why not list affiliate marketing related jobs alongside your blog content?

    note to self: wordpress widget

Not many people are aware of this but recruitment is one of the biggest, if not THE biggest sector online. Those who like to work the long tail in their search campaigns will have a field day with this one as the keyword permutations are literally endless.

    Thanks

Right - couldn't read the full article without login, but the £90m is for the 'global relaunch' so a lot more than just the techy stuff... for a moment I thought they must have outsourced to the same tech company that the NHS does

I've just had a look at the Monster datafeed.

Personally, I believe it needs a couple of changes before we can use it properly:

    1. The feed does not include a company name field (e.g. RBS) to indicate who each position is with (or blank if it is meant to be anonymous). The brand field currently contains a number?

    2. The mImage field is just an endless repetition of the Monster logo. really it should be the logo of each company offering the position (as included on the Monster website).

    3. Ideally the salary range would be listed in the price field rather than just being part of the description text.

Any chance these changes could be made?

Thank you for your feedback it’s really appreciated.

Unfortunately the data we receive from Monster cannot match exactly to all the fields in the Affiliate Window feed, although where possible we have.

Sometimes the salary being offered with a job is undisclosed, sometimes it is stated as negotiable; obviously these terms cannot be populated within a numerical cell and has had to be stated within the description text.

We are trying to work with a feed that is predominantly designed for retail clients!!!

In regard to the logos and the company names, they are good points; I have relayed this to Monster - awaiting an official response – will keep you posted on any developments.

Intersting to see a program in this sector.

Do you have any conversion statistics?

    Also you say:

"The Monster.co.uk affiliate programme is geared towards Job Seekers and rewards affiliates £2.50 in commission for each Job Seeker that successfully uploads a completed and valid CV."

What does Monster consider to be a completed and valid CV?

    Hi Conradb,

Conversion rates vary significantly depending on the type of promotional activity, your quality of traffic etc but on average the programme is converting between 4-6%.

"What does Monster consider to be a completed and valid CV? "

    - Put simply, one that is not blank or fraudulent. All CV's are run through a quality control team.

    Thanks
