TicketMaster (US) Program
Hey,
I have a quick question. I am an affiliate of TicketMaster (US), it states Recurring Events No and Cookie 30 days? What exactly does this mean? For e.g. if someone goes to the website using my track link, cookie get stored there.. and he made few purchases every now and then, for which purchases, I will be credited for??? all sales for 30 days?? Or after how much sales exactly the cookie get expired?? Let me know, thanks.
Thanks in advance.

Hi...
My name is Charlie Calabrese and I am the Product Manager for buy.at here in the states.
The cookie being set for thirty days means if someone clicks on your link and is driven to TM, their machine is logged as being directed to TM by you. For the next 30 days if a sale is made on TM, AND (this is the important part) no other affiliate drives the user to TM in the interim, you get the commission on the sale.
To elaborate...pretty much all sales, there are always exceptions to the rule, some tickets are non-commissionable, an example would be a charity event.
The cookie gets expired after thirty days from the original click, unless a new click from you comes in, in which case the thirty days resets. OR (again the important one) if another affiliate drives traffic to TM after you do, essentially the last person to drive a user gets the commissions.
Please let me know if this makes sense and I am happy to help you if you have any other questions.
Charlie Calabrese

Great question...
Sadly I don't know off the top of my head and rather than guess...
I have reached out to the head's of the TM program and will post their response as soon as I have it in hand. (My hope is that this will be in the next couple of hours at most)
Regards,
c3

I'll desperately wait for a reply.
Meanwhile, I have another question, can I ask my friend, who bought tickets from the website every now and then to use my affiliate link or this is not allowed? I just want to be sure, so I dont do anything wrong. Thanks.

Absolutely...as long as the sales are legitimate we have no problem with traffic being heavey from a single user.
As a matter of fact we have a number of travel agencies who use our links on their internal machines. Essentially selling travel and entertainment.
But I would recommend branching out beyond your one friend...more friends = more cash

I would imagine that recurring events NO means that if someone buys something after clicking on your affiliate link then you can't earn any more commission after that ONE event.
Some programs have Recurring Events YES meaning that if that person buys on more than one occasion during the cookie window then you get the commission on all items bought as long as your cookie hasnt been over written.
