What does this affiliate url mean?
I have a standard deeplinked buy.at affiliate url to promote a merchant and when checking the stats via buy.at it s showing about 50% of the clicks go via the following urll...
On clicking the url from the buy.at interface sometime it takes me to the the correct deeplinked page, and other times it takes me to an overflow page which notifies me to wait a minute before I can visit the page.. then after about 60 seconds shows a page cannot be displayed error.Code:http://www.perfiliate.com/brains/prefered.php?PURL=nexttransactional.at/pagerank10&LID=iCodesAds_featured&DURL=http://www.next.co.uk/sale/

Hi Reza
As said in my first post.. I do use the standard link...
It's buy at who seem to redirect it to the strange link 50% of the time?.. this is why i'm asking.... why do they do that?Code:http://nexttransactional.at/pagerank10?LID=iCodesAds_featured&DURL=http://www.next.co.uk/sale/
You can see the link for yourself which I use... its at the very top left of Browse or Search through 1000's of products, services, voucher codes and compare prices.
Cheers

Hi Lee,
The reason your buy.at links go through URLs like this is so that we can record the click in our systems as well as redirect the user to the correct destination.
In this case the Next programme is using DoubleClick, our systems make sure all links go through the neccessary click command(s) to ensure any sales will track.
We will look into the issue you have raised regarding the clickthroughs in the buy.at interface.
Kind regards,
Reza

In that case why are only 25%-50% redirected via that url when judging by the click refs they have all come via the same link on our site.. as we only have one merchant from one link using that one click ref.
Regarding the 'page cannot be displayed' error, well I think thats a fault at Next and not buy.at, the link got redirected to the following page...
NEXT Queuing System
Then after 60 or so seconds it redirected to the 'page cannot be found' error.. glad im not a PPC affiliate :scared

Hi Lee,
All your buy.at affiliate links will be redirected through this URL initially and then redirected appropriately, you can see this if you have http headers open in Mozilla or Fiddler in IE.
Thanks for providing the extra information regarding the Next site page load, I agree that this is not ideal as many users may click away before the site actually loads.
Have a great weekend

Yeah, thats fine if all is as it should be, I was just going off the buy.at stats report which show (today.. 28 of the 70 links from the same affiliate url have gone via this redirection), so was just a little confused as to the reason.
I'll now go have that great weekend... or whats left of it

I think i'll push a different merchant anyway because 2% is a rip off, this month made them £9000 in sales to get £200 commission :td
Phoned buy.at to ask for increased commission, only to be given another number to ring, which ended up being the wrong numnber :td
